Treat yourself to some time off on a peaceful Leicestershire farm – one with a lovely little set of animals, including ducks, chickens, dogs and, perhaps most importantly, a nosy herd of alpacas. Around half an hour's drive from Leicester and 20 minutes from the market town of Market Harborough, adults-only Pine Tree Glamping Retreat is in a lovely rural spot in the village of Peatling Parva. The village pub is just a two-minute walk away from the site, and it's a particularly good ones with three acres to its name, and a menu of classic English dishes and Sunday lunches. If you’d rather do your own cooking, pick up supplies from the supermarket in Lutterworth, 10 minutes’ drive away, and use the on-site barbecue facilities (bringing your own barbecue is not permitted). A small village shop is in Gilmorton, a few minutes' drive away, too. The site's other facilities include simple shared toilets and showers. Fairly basic but very friendly, this site has stunning views over the countryside and windmills. The sunset views come highly recommended by the owners – they also suggest bringing along your fishing rod, as there are multiple fishing ponds scattered around the village. You may also want to take your bicycle out for a ride around some of the popular local cycling routes.
