A terrific site lacks the standard camp toilet and shower blocks.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked: Location, staff, farm shop facilities and children’s activities were all exemplary.
Disliked: The compost toilets although clean were extremely basic design located in a wooden hut set on grass which made for a muddy entrance, no hand cleansing facilities, stiff shoot bolt for locking. The shower was all of the above but more basic. With no dry standing area. Noisy evenings due to Stanstead airport flight path

From the manager: Hi Nick, Thank you for leaving a review - we are glad to hear any feedback here at church farm. Firstly, I'm glad to hear that our farm shop and the activities available to children were to your liking, we pride ourselves on customer service. In regards to the facilities, we do appreciate that they are slightly more "rustic" than your standard toilet or shower. We appreciate your feedback on the bolt locks, and muddy area (something we find is an ongoing challenge in the unpredictable weather of this country) - we take these comments on board and this will be raised with our camping team. Of course, we are located along a flight path - some campers do find no issue with this, however I do appreciate how this can have an effect your stay. It's not something we try to hide, and we try to make people aware as best we can in camping booking confirmations. Anyhow, thank you so much for your review - and we apologise we weren't up to our usual best standards on the day. If you do consider coming back, we can offer you a free farm day visit for you and your family - get into contact with us to claim this (mention myself, Ollie). Thanks again, and we hope to see you again soon :)

Liked: The cafe and the restaurant! All the help from the reception and the condition of the pitches
Disliked: Some bathrooms were a bit dirty

From the manager: Hi both, Thank you so much for your lovely review! As a small not-for-profit business, we thrive on word of mouth reviews like yours. We are very humbled to know that you enjoyed your stay with us, and that the cafe and restaurant were to your liking, and that our staff were friendly and helpful. As for the bathrooms - we do appreciate your comment on this as it is one of the many challenges, as we do have many facilities across the entire campsite we try to keep clean at all times - but the fact that it's on a farm sometimes makes this a challenge. We do check and clean the facilities twice a day but it is something we are constantly trying to improve. We hope this didn't impact your stay - and if it did, we send our sincerest apologies. Thanks again for leaving such a lovely review, and for coming to our peaceful corner of Hertfordshire! We hope that you consider staying with us again, and until then - we look forward to your arrival. Thanks, Ollie

Liked: A lovely eco friendly farm. The woodland camping site was excellent and really felt like a wilderness experience. Listening to the sound of the wind in the trees and waking up to bird song made it a special experience.

Primitive forest floor tent campsite (woodland)
Liked: Our second stay at Church Farm and even more impressed this time. It’s such a spacious lay laid out site and so varied - pitches are busy or quiet, woodland or grass - the choices are endless and all so well laid out. Compost toilets and showers are spotless. The showers are brilliant. I’ve stayed on a lot of farm campsites and it always seems they’re a little too busy to keep on top of everything. Church Farm is the opposite- immaculately clean, so well organised and well kept, from the animals, the pitches, the glamping options, the playgrounds for kids, the shop, the facilities, everything! . It really is such a great place to visit. Lovely walks in the surrounding countryside. Wonderful evenings by a campfire with plenty of wood and supplies to buy at the shop. Looking forward to our next visit!

Liked: The farm was perfect for a group of friends with children ranging from 0-10. The children loved exploring the surroundings, seeing the animals and getting all the fresh air they needed for a good nights sleep. Lots of happy memories made.
