Large open field on the banks of the river teme

  • Spacious riverside campsite on a 250-acre hop and apple farm
  • A 20-minute drive from Tenbury Wells; half an hour from Worcester
  • Taproom (closed on Mondays) and a fishing lake; pizza on select days
There's a lot of talk these days about cutting down your food miles and eating local, but what about drinking local too? If you're vigorously nodding your head by this point, have a look at Orleton Court Farm, a 250-acre hop and apple farm in the Worcestershire countryside where fine ales and lagers are brewed on site. If you like a chilled pint, stays at this quiet, spacious farm site will likely involve a lengthy spell hanging out around the tap room (closed on Mondays). There, you can sample drinks made from the hops grown in the neighbouring fields on Tuesday to Friday evenings (from 5pm until close) and weekends (from 1pm until close). The tap room also does one of the meanest pizzas in the Teme Valley, with a wood-fired oven on hand to make every order extra crispy; food is available at set times on Tuesday to Friday evenings, and from 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 6pm on weekends. Live music is also available on Friday and Saturday evenings. Orleton Court Farm has more leisure facilities like an angling lake that's open to guests all day, every day (you can't catch your dinner here, though, as it's coarse fishing only). Any other points worth noting? Well, there's the web access, dog-friendly site rules, wild swimming and the wild spa with a sauna and plunge pool (for an additional fee). Paddleboarding is available to try on the river. There's also the fact that you're just over a mile and a half from the nearest butcher's if it’s barbecue weather. Mill Farm Country Retail Park, where there's a farm shop, is two miles away by road (it’s slightly closer if you're on foot and opt for the shortcut by the river).

What customers say

This spacious, scenic campground has a relaxed vibe with a popular on-site bar and brewery offering craft beers and wood-fired pizzas. Guests love the friendly staff and the freedom to pick pitches by the river or in an orchard. Live music is a big hit. While some found the washrooms basic and needing updates, it's highly recommended for its natural beauty and chill atmosphere.

Teme-side primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked On a sunny Thursday morning my wife and I set off for our annual 4 day camping experience at a medium sized local music festival. The music was a much better experience than the camping. Sharing a field ( family section = more sleep? ) with hundreds of other tents should be a breeze. It was a nightmare. Sadly, a nightmare suggests a modicum of sleep. That didn’t happen. Music finish 02:30, shouting and people of all ages talking till sunrise. No sleep. We left early Friday morning…
So, with days to kill and a car full of camping equipment, we headed to a pub (with coffee and wifi ) to plan…
Pitchup was one of a few websites that came up for campsites. As a couple with no campsite experience other than the last 15 years of music festivals their website was perfect.
We set a 50 mile radius and were provided with suitable places and several ideal options. We were able to pinpoint an available site because of the excellent filters provided. And paying was child’s play.
The campsite we chose, not only exceeded our expectations but provided a platform for exploration of local places of interest for us and everyone of our friends who will travel, camp or campervan in future.
Orleton Court Farm was amazing. Plenty of space to camp, Portaloos aplenty, a toilet and shower block too, provided all the basics a campsite needs. However, nothing prepared us for the evening that followed.
A Tap room pub, onsite, just a few minutes walk, with their own beers, ( try Diablo at 6.6%) from hops grown in the next field, was cool. A pizzeria, (open, I believe, on Friday to Sunday), was even better. Then, entertainment on a stage featuring a talented local guitarist painted the perfect picture. We got music too. Incredible. Every member of staff we spoke to was polite, friendly and welcoming.
A fishing lake is also onsite if you feel so inclined.
This campsite is real hidden gem and now I’m following them on social media. We shall return several more times as Worcestershire has many more cultural treats than we could manage in the time we had there.
So, go visit Orleton Court Farm. Go visit Pitchup. We did, and camping is now our new hobby. Awesome!

Disliked I’m not embarrassed to say we had no problems at all. From logging on to the Pitchup website, to handing back our little red flag ( to let people know that we had paid), Orleton Court Farm delivered, in spades.

Teme-side primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Nice, peaceful pitch, pretty setting with the lake & river. Very useful having the portaloos dotted about which were in excellent condition. Very quiet so felt we had plenty of privacy. Spent a lovely evening in the on-site pub and enjoyed a pizza.

Disliked The facilities were not good at all (except the portaloos which had just been serviced). The actual flushing loos were in poor condition. Didn’t bother with the showers because of it.
Some litter around site, we managed to pick up everything near our pitch despite very little of it being ours

Teme-side primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked We loved everything about this site, there were plenty of different areas to pitch up, whether you wanted to be near a group of likeminded people, or in a quiet spot you had the choice. We absolutely loved the bar area with live music (as we went on a weekend) and was very impressed with the onsite pizza and waffle options. I would say this site seemed quite lively and if your visiting on a weekend there was many camps playing music until 2/3am but I doubt it would be like this in the week? All in All We LOVED IT here.

Teme-side primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked The space, beautiful views, great pizza, nice beer, fire pit, friendly people, lots of longdrop toilets around the site which always had toilet paper. There was an Axe Man competition on the weekend we went which was entertaining. It was busy but the queues for the bar never got too long and the wait for pizza was short. Also live music in the evening

Disliked Shower was cold, sign did say you could go and let them know but by that time you’re already in the shower so just coped with it
