Liked: Simple to get setup. Very welcoming owner. All site instructions very clear. Massive pitch sizes. Although it backs onto a train track there was no noise later at night.
Disliked: Narrow lane all the way down to the site from the main road.

Liked: I really wanted to love this campsite. The pitches were flat and spacious, the people running it were lovely (as was their dog), and the vibe was perfect.
The flushing toilet was spotless, as were the recycling facilities, and the campsite was generally well cared for. It also attracted a lovely bunch of campers and I felt very safe. I can understand why the overall score is 9.6.
But the train noise was just too much for me.
Disliked: The site is next to mainline train tracks that have trains running at least three time per hour during the day and two per hour during the evening, starting around 6am and finishing shortly before midnight.
Although some reviews mention the trains, it’s not mentioned in the main blurb for the campsite, which I think is unfair, and I ask the campsite to update this. Not everyone (including me) reads through the reviews. If I see a 9.6 score, I assume the blurb is accurate with no key details missing.
What I would say to those reading this is that if you’re not bothered by noise, then please stay, as it’s a lovely spot. Anyone sensitive to noise should give it a miss.

From the manager: Hi sorry to hear that you left early because of the tran noise unfortunately you did ask to pitch next to the facilities as this is the closest pitch to the train line so the noise is louder than further up the site if you would have mentioned it to us we could have moved you to a different pitch we have contacted pitch up to get them to update the info on the site so hopefully everyone is aware when booking thank you for your input

Liked: Lovely and quiet (apart from the trains that weren't bother and didn't run at night only a few on Sunday). The man who met me and let me in was lovely and helpful. The loo was nice and clean. Mostly I liked that there were only five pitches and it was peaceful.
Disliked: Nothing
