  • Adults-only Gloucestershire shepherd’s hut next to the Cotswold Way
  • WWT Slimbridge half an hour’s drive, and Lacock Abbey 40 minutes
  • Kitchen, double bed and ensuite shower room; pubs 20 minutes’ walk
Time for a Cotswolds retreat with your beloved? How about a romantic few days away at High Hill Farm Shepherd’s Huts, five minutes’ drive from Hawkesbury Upton in Gloucestershire? Here you can escape everyday cares and soak up fantastic views from a cosy cabin on wheels with spectacular views stretching as far as the Severn Vale and Welsh hills. The Hare Hut is a traditional shepherd’s hut on a working beef farm; its interior is cosy and welcoming with a double bed (luxury linens all supplied), a smartly designed kitchenette with microwave, kettle, toaster and a fridge, and an ensuite bathroom with shower. A woodburner ensures that you both keep nicely warm no matter what the weather is doing outside. Moving outside, you'll have a private fenced garden in the corner of a farm field; there’s a firepit for any barbecuing you might like to do, and an outdoor table and chairs. Parking is by the hut. Keen hikers will be pleased to know that there is direct access to the long-distance Cotswold Way. Anything you need provisions-wise can be picked up within 15 minutes’ drive, and there are two pubs roughly 20 minutes’ walk away.

The Hare shepherd's hut

Liked Lovely accomodation in a quiet location. Fully equipped with everything you need for a break away including an electric single hob, microwave and fire pit. Very comfortable bed, table & stools and single lounge chairs. Bathroom with good powered shower. Great views all round. Location close to Bristol and Bath and local pubs close by. No wifi but good phone signal if you need it. A very enjoyable stay. The address takes you to the farm, but the lane to the hut is a little harder to find. Look out for the sign just inside the gate. The owners were extremely helpful and we enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Disliked It was just a little tricky to find, but the owners were extremely helpful in finding the lane up to the hut, which was just passed the farm entrance.
