Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Lovely location. Pitches were of a generous size. I had read that the toilet facilities were not very good but I have to say that while they were slightly dated I have no complaints - everything worked and showers were fine with plenty of space in cubicles. Freezer available for ice blocks and two perfectly suitable sinks for dishes. Absolutely fine for the money paid. I was more than happy.

Powered grass and gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked: The camp was in a lovely spot, the staff were helpful and kind when we arrived.

Disliked: The facilities were very dated. 2 toilets for that size camp is not enough. They were also dirty. The dish washing area was very unloved, the toilet waste stank and was next to the facilities. The decking is rotten and felt unsafe to walk on. There was a large argument on the site which almost turned violent, lots of people shouting, children witnessed this. Sadly the manager said " leave them to it, happens all the time". This was so disappointing and really put us off returning.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Great location near the river, walk past not been maintained, potentially can be a beautiful campsite.

Disliked: Bad smell near the toilet area, unusable toilets and unusable showers, shockingly bad facilities. The grass and paths are not maintained. Everything are totally neglected.

Local attractions

Slotted into a slender strip of land at the meeting point of the Severn and Avon rivers, Tewkesbury hasn’t changed much over the centuries: black and white Tudor buildings overhang the narrow streets, and the 12th-century abbey has the highest Norman tower in England. There are town and country museums to explore, historic buildings like the Old Baptist Chapel, plus shops and entertainment aplenty. The local countryside and riverbanks are great for ramblers and guests can find boat and bike hire, windsurfing and golf courses nearby. Also on your doorstep are the golden villages and verdant hills of the Cotswolds and attractive provincial towns and cities such as Cheltenham and Gloucester.
