Primitive grass tent campsite (four person)
Liked: All the staff on the campsite and in the pub were really friendly. Good sized level pitches. Camping is great value for money. Close to cycle trails and super walks in the dales. Pub next to site serving a good choice of food. Wi-Fi weak on campsite but fine in the pub. Good to get away from it sometimes.
Disliked: Not keen on unisex toilets but facilities were always clean.

Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite (large)
Liked: The location was great, straight on to the monsal trail direct from the site. All grass pitches, but decent size spaces. The pub on site is great, awesome food and good beers. Big covered beer garden space sees you right through any weather. Decent clean toilet, wash and shower facilities. Staff were super friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike, though I personally feel it is at the upper end cost wise for a basic grass pitch.

Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite (large)
Liked: Clean and tidy and the reception and bar staff very helpful and friendly. Decent although a little tired facilities. Midway between Buxton and Bakewell, ideal for visiting.
Disliked: Didn’t feel as safe and secure when we were the only campers in residence on the Sunday night. Lots of loud talking coming from the pub car park after closing which is likely not the fault of the campsite but the pub staff could have had a word?
