What customers say
Great washrooms & helpful staff. Kids loved the play area. Good Peak District base, peaceful vibes. Road noise can be an issue at night, some tent pitches slope. Occasional soap/loo roll shortages.

Great campsite, friendly staff, playground awesome
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Out of season review:
Very quiet out of season - i imagine its a different vibe in the height of summer!
Plenty of washing up stations
Toilets were generally clean
Playground was great for kids
Non electric pitches were nice and flat
Communication with staff was great, especially as we needed a late check in
Excellent location if youre outdoorsy, fairly safe cycle to get onto the tissington trail with kids directly from the campsite (only one main road to cross) and within driving distance to enough places of interest to keep you going for ages
Disliked The smell in the womens toilets in the morning was awful - looking at other reviews this looks like an ongoing thing?

The staff at Newhaven went above…
Powered grass tent campsite
Liked The staff at Newhaven went above and beyond for me. I had a crash just outside the entrance to the park as I was turning up for my holiday. Julie, the receptionist came down to the entrance with two male members of staff and they helped me get my children out of the car, all my belongings and they waited for the ambulance and police to finish their enquiries before taking me and my children to our pitch on a golf buggy. Julie then brought two ice lollies down to the tent for my children. The manager later visited the tent to see if we were alright aswell. They also made suggestions to where we can walk to safely with the children since my car had been taken to storage and the child seats were no longer viable.
Beside the fact that the staff were exceptional, the facilities were good too. There is a park on site for the children to use with swings, climbing frame and slides. The toilets and shower block were modern and clean and were locked by which you entered with a code which made me feel safer.
At reception there is a small shop, stocking essentials and confectionary.
I would definitely recommend this site, if we had been able to drive the children, this site would also make a great base for exploring the peak district.
