What customers say
Well-kept, peaceful, friendly site with roomy, level pitches. Spotless facilities with hot water. Helpful staff. Great for Peak District exploring. Avoid North Lane via GPS. Poor WiFi/cell signal in spots.

An ok basic site, no network or wifi, good base to travel from.

Liked Location is great, well placed for visiting local attractions. Site is quiet and easy to find (don't follow the satnav down North Lane as this is an utter nightmare and will scratch up the side of anything bigger than a camper). Pitches are absolutely level which is great and the site is locked and secure. We arrived late but details for us were left at the reception noticeboard and allowed us to still pitch up. If you're looking for a fairly basic site in a good location, this is it.
Disliked Despite advertising WiFi the site doesn't have any and it's also in a signal black spot. Great if you don't want contact with anyone at home but not great if you need to stay in touch or log on to work etc. Shouldn't really advertise this if not available. Basic site, showers extremely hot and not adjustable (just about ok for adults but probably too hot for little ones), shower/loo block quite tired, not overly clean but this may be down to the folks staying at the site.

Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Very friendly accommodating site. Clean toilets and showers. Even sell cold dinks, ice creams and a few other little essentials at reception.
Bus stop outside to catch the bus into Ashbourne, Belper or nearby villages, only downside is no busses on a Sunday.
Nearest pub 25 mins walk along a fast road with no footpath or you can try the public footpath fields way, took over an hour but we did get lost a few times! Was definitely ready for a beer when we arrived.
Lovely quiet site, would recommend.

Powered grass campsite
Liked Nice tidy site with clean service block. We were in the grass camping field and I like that there was also an additional toilet nearby. Easy check in. In the summer you can flag down the bus into Ashbourne at the entrance to the campsite, it will also drop you off there.
Disliked A little bit of road noise but not horrendous. The pitches in the camp field did seem to be quite close together
