Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Wonderful setting, with the pleasure of sharing it with alpaca's. It was a lovely surprise to have a shower, as I read, it didn't have any. I would definitely stay again.

Disliked: Please sort out the track to the site, the ruts are very deep.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The location and surroundings are lovely. Facilities were reasonable, proper showers with hot water, flushing toilets, outdoor kitchen was a nice touch. Nice place to stay on quieter days.

Disliked: The access road as many mentioned needs attention and not suitable for smaller cars. The cleaning needs improvement. No recycling.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: This is a very relaxed camp site, close to local amenities and pubs. The owners are happy for you to light a fire and there's even a big pile of free wood. Despite the advert on pitch-up, there are hot showers available. It was a very enjoyable stay

Disliked: The road up to the campsite is very potholed and I saw some drivers struggle to get up it (more through nerves than the car getting stuck). There wasn't a regular cleaning service so the toilets/showers didn't get a daily clean.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: We loved the fields and being surrounded by the tree's. It's a beautiful spot for camping, observing nature, and has lots of walks. We also loved seeing the sheep, little lambs and alpacas. The walk to the Royal Standard pub was only a few minutes which was perfect, and the food was brilliant. We also loved how we could have our own camp fire and our car right next to our tent.

Disliked: The toilets and showers were of a great design, however, you need to wear sandles/flip flops when showering as it gets very muddy in the showers/toilets. There was consistently a que for the toilets/showers, but this is to be expected during busy seasons. We went on a bank holiday! We also found the road/hill leading up to the field a bit of a struggle in our standard hatch back, but a 4 x 4 wouldn't have any problems.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The open fire is the main reason we booked this site and it didn’t disappoint. Plenty of firewood available. Toilets were nice and clean, showers available too but the water pressure was low. Pet and child friendly. You will see some 🐑 and 🐐 running around but it’s nothing to worry about. They are people friendly 😁. The site could arrange more rubbish disposal points. No wifi available. Getting in and out of the site was a bit difficult but I’m sure Frankie will sort the very bumpy road. If you can’t be bothered with cooking, there’s a great pub within walking minutes. Overall it was a great site and will definitely book again.

Disliked: The road getting in and out was terrible but I’m sure it will get sorted. If you drive a low clearance car you will definitely scrape the bottom.
