Liked Great host, made us very welcome from the start, very helpful and informative. Great location, just a few minutes walk to town to the shops, bars and coffee shops. Also handy for catching the bus to explore Croyde bay and Barnstaple. Enjoyed watching the cricket games next to the campsite.
Disliked The site would benefit from having washing up sinks in a better location than inside the toilet cubicles, there is space for outside washing up sinks which would have been better.

Fully-serviced gravel and concrete caravan site (premium)
Liked Spotless toilets and showers. Easy to find the site. Well placed to tour the area.
Disliked Our pitch was in the shade and near the main road so it was noisy until around midnight and then the traffic started again around 5.

Liked Easy to find and a great location to stay on the outskirts of Scotland to travel to Dumphries etc.
Pitches were a good size. Quiet site with a little bit of traffic noise. Shops and takeaways just a few minutes walk away.
Disliked Only having one key for the toilets and shower block so I had to let my partner in first and keep the key for me to use.

Liked Great evening entertainment. Park is very clean and well laid out. Pitches are spacious. Good location to walk to the bus and rail station to travel to other beaches and towns.
Disliked Disappointed with the pitch we were given as it was opposite the toilets which did not give us a great view! There was only one recycle bin on the site - there needs to be far more to encourage people to recycle as we all need to reduce the amount we send to landfill sites.
Also, there needs to be duck boards in the shower cubicles to enable you to keep off the wet floors when getting dressed, or better drainage.

Liked Lovely view from our motorhome and a very quiet site. Toilets very clean.
Disliked It was a shame that the bar was not open during our stay. Also, it was a good thing that there was not too many people staying as there is only one shower in both the ladies and the gents.

From the manager: Thanks for the review - at the moment our outdoor hay-day bar is only open on Friday/Saturday evenings. Our mid-week pricing is cheaper than our weekend pricing due to this. As detailed, we are a small site and during your stay, our main site was at full occupancy. We do have an additional camping area that is open during bank holidays/good weather and live music weekends. Welsh Government minimum standards are 1 shower per 25 pitches (with no minimum occupancy per pitch). We have 2 showers per 22 pitches, most of which are adult only pitches with a maximum of 2 occupants. If a potential guests are dependent on set facilities, we would suggest staying at a larger site.

Liked Great location for coastal walks to Solva and St David's.
Warden was very friendly in greeting us which we have never experienced before and was very helpful with many things including directions to the coastal path.
Had a nice meal in the Ship Inn which had a limited menu but very nice.
Nice views from our pitch. And toilet/Shower block kept very clean.
Very quiet with no traffic noise.
Disliked Nothing to dislike, next time we will come with a tow car so that we can explore the area more easily.

Liked Location was good as we could walk to Combe Martin and to Watermouth. The food on site was very good and well priced.
Disliked The camping area was a small field surrounded by the static caravans so you felt you were being watched all the time. Luckily we were the only ones camping there because the pitches are very close together, had it been full, it would have been even worse. There needs to be a sign on the field to say no ball games as the children use this to play football! There is a much nicer location on this site of a field overlooking the sea that is not being used that would be much better for camping.
The shower/toilet block is a disgrace, the floor is constantly wet, the room smells of mould, there is no where to sit to undress or keep your clothes dry as there is no shower curtain. The shower/toilet facilities for camping are the worst I have come across - they remind me of how it was 40 years ago!

Liked Lovely scenery from our motorhome. It was lovely to see the animals. Very quiet at night.
Disliked You need a car to be able to travel around the area because there is no pub, town or cafe within easy walking distance. We were in a motorhome and felt a bit stranded during our stay. It was a good job we had plenty of provisions. Narrow road to campsite.

From the manager: Sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay. It does say on the description that we are nestled in the countryside and there is no mention of being able to walk to a pub town or cafe so not sure why you had this impression. 🤔

Liked Great location for visiting the lakes. Easy to find the site, and very quiet despite being near a main road. Toilet/showers very clean and lovely and warm with the under floor heating. Within walking distance to the town and local pubs.
Disliked The only thing that could be improved is a few more outside lights to save having to use a torch.

Liked Great location, just a few minutes walk from 3 pubs, shop, cafe and fish & chip shop. Also just half hour pleasant 'forest' walk to the coast where you can walk along the coast to either the lighthouse or Hartland quay. We could leave the motorhome on site and catch the bus which was a few minutes walk to the bus stop to Barnstaple, Bude and Clovely.
Disliked Nothing.
