Camping pod
Liked The view was amazing & peaceful. Watching the fields of animals every day was lovely. Self contained pod was compact & had all the basic items we needed for a few days. Alex & Ash were extremely helpful & friendly. And the sky at night was gorgeous, stars everywhere.
Disliked Having to drive for at least 20/30 mins before getting anywhere was a bit of a bind. We didn’t feel it was a good base for what we wanted.

Liked Extremely peaceful. Fantastic views. Well kept & thought out plots. Liked the picnic bench at each plot. Plenty of drinking water taps. Cleanest showers, with decent power, & toilet’s we‘ve ever experienced. Loved the amenities room with sink, microwave & fridge. There is a freezer but it is for ice packs only. Crisps, cold drinks & chocolate for sale with a honesty box. Loads of leaflets & a great information folder with things to do, eat etc. Some body boards & fishing nets to borrow. Loved walking our dog to see the horses, goats & alpacas a few times a day.
Disliked Didn’t really dislike anything. However, if you want to take your dog on a longer walk from the site, you have to go on a very narrow country lane (we are used to country lanes as we live in rural Somerset) & we met 4 cars/vans in the space of a minute, so turned round & came back, quite dangerous. Did miss having a pub within easy walking distance, but that’s a personal preference. As stated, no wi-fi & also phone reception was bad, which was not a bad thing, but couldn’t plan days out etc very well.

From the manager: Thank you for the lovely review, really glad you liked our site.💜 Seems you were unlucky with traffic, whilst walking your dogs as the country lane is normally very quiet 😊

Liked Loved the rural aspect & the small concern, much nicer & quieter than the larger ones with loads of people. There is no reception, you sort yourselves out, very hands-off.
Disliked Nothing to dislike

Upper Meadow fully-serviced concrete and grass caravan site (large, pet friendly)
Liked Very well looked after, helpful, friendly staff, clean shower & toilet facilities. Lent us a hook up extension as someone had already plugged into our hook up spot. Dog walking field/meadow was lovely & clean.
Disliked No pub or shops for groceries near enough to walk to, unless going across fields, which looked complicated. We were there in 30 degrees heat & could have done with some tree shade, even though we had an awning tent, it was very exposed to the elements.

From the manager: Hi Guys, thank you very much for your lovely review! We have just had some brilliant news that we are getting the go ahead in Holt for fibre broadband within the next 6 months.....hopefully. This will sort out our countryside quality broadband ready for next year as it drives all the residents crazy too! We have no issues with the phone signal usually so I am not sure what happened there but hope it didn't cause you too much inconvenience.
Coleford, Gloucestershire, England
Power optional grass site
Liked Had to have a different pitch to the one booked, as a caravan had parked at an odd angle & too far over, so not enough room for our camper van & awning. Owner, who was very lovely, suggested another field, which meant we were in our own. We loved the privacy this gave us for a few days until others arrived although, we were furthest away from the toilet/shower block.
Disliked Toilet & shower block looked new-ish & there were 3 toilets & 4 shower cubicles. However, the showers didn’t really work properly. Water sprayed in all directions, which made rinsing shampooed hair very difficult. Also they are on a timer which needs pressing every 20 seconds. Not practical for showering. Pub was advertised as walking distance, which it is if you walk through narrow overgrown footpaths & fields. It is about a mile away to the actual town of Coleford with plenty of eating places & a couple of drinking places. Loved the tapas restaurant & the micro pub.

From the manager: Thanks for your feedback. You must have gone the wrong way to the pub! I'll get the showers sorted - they sometimes need a bit of calgon to clear the limescale.
