Powered concrete slab caravan site
Liked This was just a stop over as conveniently located near the M1. The electric was off in the morning. It was due back on at 7am but didn't come on till 9am. I'm sure this wasn't the owners fault.
Some nice walks just across the road.
Disliked However, they had building work going on and it started at 8am!!! So not a very peaceful location. There were empty pitches further away from this so it would have been good to fill these up first, as we were quite near it.

Lune fully-serviced concrete and grass caravan site
Liked We only stayed 1 night on our way home from the Lakes. Very conveniently located near the M6 but no traffic noise. Pitches were massive!
We walked to the pub but were unable to find the path until on our way back. It was actually right in front of our pitch! Maybe a sign would have helped.
Facilities were spotless.
Disliked An opening window would have helped in the toilet/shower block as it became very humid. People tried leaving the door open but others kept shutting it.

Unpowered grass and earth tent or motorhome site
Liked We arrived very last minute - ten mins from booking! But we were made to feel so welcome. We booked for 1 night and ended up staying 4 nights. The site was technically fully booked but they made room for us, and it was such a lovely place. It really was perfect for us - great views, nice quiet site and some privacy on our pitch. Facilities were top notch too! So handy having a freezer as not many sites do now. We even did a walk on our last day by their recommendation, and they provided parking for us. We will be back - thank you so much
Disliked Having to come home...

Liked Very conveniently located close to the motorway. We were made to feel very welcome. Superb facilities, probably one of the best campsites we've been to. Loved watching the cows and sheep too - perfect!

Liked Loved the nearby Thor's cave. Definitely worth a visit.
Disliked The reason for booking this campsite was one of the features being a 'peaceful' campsite. We also requested a 'quiet pitch' on booking. All looked good when we arrived. However, on arriving back from our walk the tent next to us had a large group of people who were playing music. It wasn't overly loud, but we didn't want to have to listen to it - I should have checked there was a no music policy on booking. We tried to move pitch and our small campervan got stuck in the mud. Fortunately a very kind soul came to our assistance. It was better once we moved. There were a number of cars getting stuck in the mud though. This site is clearly a work in progress though, so hopefully this will be sorted for other damp days.
