Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Really great site. Very family and dog friendly. The staff are really friendly , gutted we couldn’t have a fire due to governments message. Nice little pub 10 min walk from the camp site which serves food, with a local shop as well which is super handy.
I liked that they had designated pitches which makes it much more convenient
Disliked Not enough toilets when fully booked, often was queues to use the toilets, especially if showers being used.

Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Really friendly site, Laury offered me a chair as I was hiking to site and she wanted to make sure I was comfy around my campfire which was so lovely of her. 🥰
Really nice quiet campsite. You can hear the motorway yes but isn’t too bad. As a solo female camper I felt completely safe and at ease here. The toilet facilities are nice and clean. I just need to work on my fire skills 🫣 couldn’t keep the thing lit! Well until I ignored it 😂
Felt nice and relaxed and got lucky with the weather. Enjoyed it being an adult only site and no music made me able to hear the wood pecker near by. Overall would highly recommend
Disliked Toilets are a little dark at night but that’s the only negative I can think of here. If there was showers it would be a perfect place for a weeks stay

Herdwick Hideaway camping pod
Liked Loved the pods from the moment I arrived. They’re super comfy and have everything you could possibly need. The staff are wonderful and helpful. We saw the animals and was allowed to pet them. Farmer Kev also showed us the fells and explained the history around it which was brill, the views are incredible.
We used the fire pit for a BBQ , s’mores and as a general fire pit.
The pods were super toasty so didn’t have to worry about being cold. Loved waking up in the morning having a brew on the balcony listening to all the animals and enjoying the view. There was a small shop on site which was helpful there was a few things we forgot like cordial and ketchup which Was a massive help, they also had sweets and the s’mores kits. It’s a 30 mins drive from scarfel pike, 15 mins drive from seascale beach, both certainly worth a visit! Can not recommend this place enough, definitely going to revisit
