Kendal, Cumbria, England
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Excellent location. Beautiful views. Friendly, quiet people everywhere, warm showers, very good value, within walking distance of Staveley with train station.
Disliked Nothing really. It's quite basic but over all very good.

Windermere, Cumbria, England
Small hillside unpowered grass tent site
Liked Easy access using public transportation. Owners assisted me with providing towel as I had forgotten mine and lent me a map so that I could ascend both local Wainwright: Sour Howes and Sallow. Outdoor shower was warm. This campsite is efficiently managed and facilities are well maintained.
Disliked There was nothing that I disliked but here are a couple of things worth mentioning. You can hear the A591 at night as it is not far. The grass is not thick on the pitches which means the floor is harder and less comfortable to sleep on. I also found that water penetrates more easily inside tent from below when there is little grass as grass acts as a buffer zone.

Hereford, Herefordshire, England
Unpowered grass site
Liked Great location, close to Hereford town center and feeling being close to nature and river Wye at the same time. Possibility to have breakfast at Rowing club restaurant from 8.30am. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Good value for money. Good warm showers.
Disliked A clear road sign indicating campsite would be good on turning from main road to road leading to campsite. I missed turning and I had to walk an extra mile, carrying my rucksack, going all around stadium then down river.

Crickhowell, Powys, Wales
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Welcoming Annabel came to meet me and gave me all the information I needed, including suggestions for two local walks that I did. Quiet pitch with no traffic noise. Good location, 10 minutes on foot to bus stop and all Crickhowell amenities.
Disliked Nothing. It's basic but you should be aware before you book, cold showers which was fine with me.

Craven Arms, Shropshire, England
Onny Meadows unpowered grass motorhome, tent or trailer tent site
Liked I liked the meadows and the river Onny nearby. I could hear the road in the distance but it did not stop me from sleeping well. I met fellow friendly campers who invited me for a cuppa and biscuits. Friendly staff at the visitor centre helped me with query for walk. Nearby Stokesay inn was also handy. The Wifi at the centre was good.
Disliked I was aware that there are no showers at the site and it didn't bother me much as I could wash in the nearby river. No cafes were available before 9am in town for breakfast. The station cafe opens at 8 on week days.

Onny Meadows unpowered grass motorhome, tent or trailer tent site
Liked Quiet with few other campers. Close to river. Close to town center with shops. Friendly staff at center.
Disliked Not disliked but to reinforce that there are no showers on site. Luckily the river was shallow and clean so that I could wash in it.
