Camping and Glamping Grintovec

Camping and Glamping Grintovec is a handy hub for cycling and climbing in the forested Kamnik-Savinja foothills (where you can also forage for mushrooms) straight from the pitches. There’s also fishing and canoeing in the waters of the Suhadolnica and Kokra rivers (both about five minutes’ walk away). The kids will love the chance to knock a ball around at Adventure Mini Golf Panorama (35 minutes’ drive), set among fir trees and with fine views of the mountains. The skaters among you can head for Sports Hall Bled (40 minutes) for a few spins on the ice rink, probably followed by a stroll around the stunning shores of Lake Bled itself. If you’re set on more hardcore outdoor activities, go paragliding over the shores of the lake, or launch yourself off the peak at Potoška Gora (half an hour) for spectacular views over the Preddvor region. Alternatively, for some sedate sightseeing days out, head for the gorgeous baroque-era centre of Ljubljana (40 minutes) to visit the medieval castle, admire the ornate interior of Saint Nicholas’s Cathedral and sip a ‘zganje’ schnapps in terrace cafés along the Ljubljanica River.
