Liked: A delightful quaint camp with the campervan sites on well set out terraces amongst olive trees. The owner was very helpful, the camp facilities were plentifu, clean and tidy and overal a great stay. Would thoroughly recommend to others.

Liked: La limpieza, y la amabilidad. El camping, quizá por ser los últimos días de agosto, estaba tranquilo. La piscina con sus tumbonas nos salvaron la tarde de llegada, y lo que nos encantó fue la posibilidad de usar una nevera para dejar cositas que, de otra forma no hubiéramos podido conservar

Disliked: Me entristeció que entre los idiomas disponibles no se encontrase el castellano. Quizá no estamos entre los clientes favoritos. De todas formas, cuando hay intención, hay entendimiento

Liked: We stayed at this site after a few busy days in Porto and on our way to Salamanca. It was a lovely quiet site which is ideal for relaxing at. We read books by their beautiful pool and drank wine (starting at 1 euro a glass) on the lovely terrace. It is a very rural site with lovely views. You can walk to the local village where I saw a Cafe and a Pizza place.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: La piscine grande spacieuse ,avec des endroits ombragés et différentes assises ,ouverte tard en soirée...Les lieux de détentes sont très bien agencés et colorés de bons goûts ,sanitaires propres ,écologiques dans leur demande à travers les affichages,terrasses rafraichissante,indications sur panneaux à visiter à proximité

Disliked: le barrage de la langue ,je parle pas très bien Anglais ni portugais ,la wifi n'est plus disponible passé l'accueil

Local attractions

As the site lies at the gateway to the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, hiking and cycling trails aplenty are within easy reach to keep you occupied for weeks should you so wish. The natural park is home to Portugal's biggest mountain range (called the Serra da Estrela, oddly enough) and is the country's biggest conservation area, covering about 1,000 square kilometres: look out for badgers, wildcats, otters and wall lizards if off on a nature spotting trip. A vast vineyard with tastings and extensive tours is about 18 kilometres from the site, run by affable vintner Manuel. The max number on each tour is 10, so if you're seriously thirsting for a trip to a Portuguese vineyard, let the Camping Quinta das Cegonhas know your intentions on arrival and they can book for you. A short drive from the park will take you to Lago Comprida; hike away from the lake for around four kilometres and you'll find another lake with a manmade concrete and granite structure in it – the Dam of Conchos – that looks (and acts) a bit like a plughole, transporting the lake's overflow down through a 1519-metre tunnel to Lago Comprida: it's quite a sight and well worth the walk. Historic towns and villages such as Melo, Folgosinho, Gouveia and Linhares are all within easy reach.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.

Vehicles

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.

Firearms are not permitted.

If reception is closed on arrival: please contact the number provided on your booking confirmation.

General

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.

Dogs

The campground/park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.
