Cracking little campsite, spotless with modern facilities and a chill vibe. Perfect for a bike ride, owners are legends, and the brewery's a bonus. Wicked views, mates. Just wish there was a bit more shade on some spots. Highly recommend it!

Liked Loved the quiet location with very helpful, kind & respectful owners.
It is small but perfectly formed. Clean, modern facilities.
Great beer, brewed by the owners. Wi-Fi is brilliant.
Would definitely return if in the area.

Disliked Nothing really. Maybe some more shaded pitches, but I think, like England, the really hot weather is probably not a frequent occurrence.

Route directions

Because Munnickenheide is on the border of two municipalities, it is possible that your satnav may show that you've arrived 300 metres too early if you drive via Oosterhout/Den Hout. Similarly, if you come via Breda/Terheijden, look for the site on the right side about 300 metres before the final destination. Because of the low viaduct (2.40m) on the road, the recommended route is via Den Hout. Look for the site on the left hand side (number 20).

Local attractions

This is a quiet spot, but that doesn't mean that you can't keep active on your hols: golf, a public pool and a spa are all under five minutes' drive from base. To get a flavour for the local countryside, head for Drimmelen (15 minutes' drive), a waterside town with a marina and opportunities to hire a craft of your own. There's more nature around these parts than you could shake a stick at: Loonse en Drunense Duinen National Park is within easy reach (30 minutes), as is Biesbosch National Park (40 minutes), a hub for sailors, cyclists and walkers. If you'd rather be city-bound, make tracks for Breda (20 minutes), a lively riverside town with some of the best shops and restaurants around. There's plenty of history here too, including the Great Church, the Begijnhof and a stately castle. If your time team is hankering for more, take them to Loevestein Castle (35 minutes), a picture-worthy fortress at the confluence of the Meuse and Waal. For those with kids in tow, plan a magic-themed day out at Efteling theme park (30 minutes), or alternatively head for the adrenaline-boosting rides and slides of Beekse Bergen (35 minutes).
