Spacious, shady sites with plenty of room. Friendly, helpful staff make for a relaxed, family vibe. Close to the sea & nature with lovely coastal views. A few noted potential noise from a nearby site/disco & suggested bathroom upgrades. Restaurant closed early for some.

Disliked Nachts lange Lärm durch nahe Hoteldisco. Restaurant wurde bereits Mitte September geschlossen obwohl damit geworden wurde das es noch geöffnet sei.

Local attractions

It’s a few minutes’ drive to the coast (or a 25-minute walk if you want to explore the coastline on foot). There’s a postcard-worthy beach with spectacular stacked rock formations at Torre Sant'Andrea (less than five minutes’ drive) and the pretty scenes continue at Torre dell'Orso bay (10 minutes), where there’s soft sand and clear water. The beaches of seaside town Otranto are 15 minutes away. Swap the sea for calmer waters and opt instead for a bit of birdwatching at the lakes Alìmini Grande (10 minutes) and Alìmini Pìccolo (15 minutes), which are a hit with various migrating birds. Aside from the Mediterranean coastline, this area is also big on architecture, and there are some impressive buildings to see. Wade out to sea (via a causeway, no need to get wet) to the medieval Aragonese Castle (20 minutes) or admire the ornate rose window and mosaic floor at Otranto Cathedral (20 minutes). The Torre Matta tower (25 minutes) has views over the harbour, but if it’s views you’re after then don’t miss the Punta Palascìa lighthouse (half an hour) – it marks the easternmost point of Italy and you’re in for excellent views when stopping by there.
