If you'd like to evade a Lot of life's responsibilities and get hither on an idle hol, the modern facilities of Camping L'Evasion between Quercy and the Périgord should suit you down to a tee.
For there's not only a pool (with waterslide and river ride) here, there's a balneotherapy corner too (if you've never heard of the art, it's the idea that stresses and creaks can be soothed away by immersing oneself in healing water). The site also has a restaurant and pizzeria for soothing away stresses about supper, and a bar with evening entertainment and shows during the summer months.
Heaps of activities are set up here in high season, including (get ready, there are lots): sports events such as football, tennis, beach volleyball, jogging, hiking, pétanque competitions (please bring your own equipment); karaoke, live music and themed music parties; keep fit training sessions (over 16 and wearing suitable footwear, s'il vous plait); water games and aqua gym, and a kids' club. The multisports pitch, tennis court, pétanque court and indoor/outdoor fitness areas ensure such activity levels can continue in all seasons.
Barbecue evenings are held too, along with options to sample local cuisine from recipes picked by the Restaurant Evasion chef.

The local gorges, slow-moving rivers to kayak on, markets and regional specialties are probably what you'd like to investigate first with at Camping L'Evasion; in week two, you might like to amble around the tiny villages and hamlets of the area, like Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, Rocamadour, Puy l'Eveque, Cahors and Sarlat.
The Upper Dordogne valley and the Causses du Quercy Regional Natural Park are both spectacularly scenic days out, whether you're delving into them via driving, hiking, cycling or canoeing on the river Dordogne.
Canoe rides on the Lot river are also available nearby, as is cantering around the region on horseback.
