What a restful, verdant seating you’ll find at Camping O'Aka, five minutes’ drive from the rural village of Leyme in the Lot. Wherever you go on this scenic site, you have stunning views over the Ségala hills from pitches surrounded by wild flowers and shaded by trees.
Facilities are provided for the whole family, from a playground with slides and swings to tennis courts and a multi-sports field. You can also while away the hours in the heated outdoor swimming pool, and then lie back to up spectacular views across the Ségala hills from your sun lounger.
And that’s before you think about the organised activities for younger kids and teens, the exercise classes and water-based games in the pool, and the pétanque evenings when you can compete gently against new-found camping pals. There’s also quite a lot going on culturally, like concerts, shows and book presentations, while locally you can go truffle tasting with a local grower, and attend basket-weaving or soap-making workshops.
A bar serving drinks and snacks opens up in the main July and August holidays, and handy family-friendly facilities include a laundry room and parent-and-baby bathroom in a modern shower block.
