  • Brittany site with Grève du Man beach access at Saint-Pol-de-Léon
  • Plage de Kersaliou 10 minutes’ drive, Roscoff 15 minutes
  • Snack bar, food trucks and grocery shop; heated pool and entertainment
Finding a site the whole family will enjoy can be difficult, but you’ll have no such problems at Camping Baie de Saint-Pol, a seaside site with direct access to Grève du Man beach at Saint-Pol-de-Léon in Brittany. Its coastal setting combines with plenty of amenities to keep everyone happily occupied and to take care of chores. Helpful facilities for parents needing to keep children entertained include play areas and organised activities, as well as kayaking, sea fishing and sailing from the beach for all ages. You can also play billiards and board games, and the heated outdoor pool comes in useful when you feel like a quiet day doing not very much. No need to concern yourself with mundane matters like cooking either, as the terrace bar has a breakfast service (you need to pre-order) and turns out snacks like fries, salads and a constant supply of ice cream for the kids during the day. Street vendors roll up to the site in high season, offering the best of Breton produce from oysters to crêpes. You can all join in dance evenings at the bar too. Running short of essentials? Again, you’re covered as there’s a small store on site. As far as other practical concerns go, the showers are fully accessible and have a baby room, and using the launderette keeps you all looking pristine.

What customers say

Great for a quiet getaway! Staff are friendly, pitches are generous. Close to beaches and Roscoff. Pub and pool are a hit. Shower temp and Wi-Fi were a bit iffy for some.

Liked Friendly, efficient receptionist who dealt with an issue with our pitch.
Large level pitch. Lots of facilities on site ie swimming pool, bar, restaurant
Lovely hot water in the showers.
Site on the sea front. Excellent town which you can walk to, ride bikes or get the free minibus.

Disliked Sanitary block could be cleaner. On several occasions there was no toilet paper.
Unfortunately, our German neighbours had a dog which barked at everybody walking by and constantly barked when left on its own. (Not the sites fault)

Liked Easy access to Roscoff for walking cycling and for the ferry port. Level pitches well marked out.

Disliked The check in time needs to be made clear. Pitch available from 12.00 but reception closed until 14.00 so we had to park up and hang around so did a number of campers.

Local attractions

If the kids can cope with the occasional day of Breton heritage-hunting, first stop may be central Saint-Pol-de-Léon (20 minutes’ walk) for a mooch around the Gothic-era cathedral and the Kreisker Chapel with its ornate soaring belfry (you can climb up the tower occasionally in summer). Seaside Roscoff (15 minutes’ drive) was once a smuggling centre and today its historic streets are lined with opulent mansions marking its former wealth. If the kids say ‘enough is enough’ at this point, head for the beach. As well as Grève du Man (direct access from the site), you can sunbathe, swim and try your hand at watersports on sandy stretches like Plage de Kersaliou (10 minutes’ drive) or the spectacular white sweep of sand at Plage des Amiets (25 minutes). There’s loads to do on dry land as well. Follow the coastal paths that run around Finistère’s Pink Granite Coast, or hike sections of the coastal GR34 trail. Cycling more your thing? Hire bikes on site to discover more of Brittany.
