It’s all about relaxing in peaceful surroundings at Camping Kerbave, just outside the little Brittany village of Plouzélambre. This attractive site is focused on nature rather than noisy activities, making it a wonderful location for some quiet chillout time in lovely green surroundings. There may be no playground, pool or organised kids’ activities at this site, but there should still be plenty for the youngsters to do – perhaps playing in the sandbox, looking out for birds and bugs in the forest or heading to the stream for a cool paddle in the water. Pitches here are set among gardens full of native plants, giving guests a real sense of being immersed in local nature. There’s plenty of space and a laidback atmosphere, so you’ll be welcome to set up an awning, gazebo and outdoor table, and get your barbecue going for a lovely evening of alfresco cookery. Please note, however, that dogs are not permitted at this site. As befits a nature-focused site, the facilities here are on the simple side, but with all the essentials covered – you’ll have access to wifi and bathrooms with showers and toilets (including wheelchair-accessible facilities). There’s also a communal covered dining area in the camping field, and a bread ordering service that can sort you out with fresh croissants for breakfast. This is a countryside site, but it’s not far from the coast – in fact, it will only take you about 10 minutes to drive to the nearest beach and the stunning scenery of the Pink Granite Coast.

Awesome spot! Beautifully spaced sites in quiet woods. Super clean, fancy loos are a big win. Owners are dead friendly, helpful, and have good Wi-Fi. Great for campervans, but check with the owner if you've got a big motorhome. Perfect base for exploring the pink granite coast.

Liked Liebevoll angelegt, sieht aus wie ein Park. Sehr kinderfreundlich, eine Oase der Ruhe. Die Sanitäreinrichtungen sind ein Traum. So duscht man sonst - wenn überhaupt - nur zu Hause. Alle Menschen dort sind unglaublich nett und freundlich. Immer wieder gerne.

Disliked Ohne Auto doch sehr abgeschieden. Eine Möglichkeit, etwas zu waschen, oder die Chemietoilette zu entsorgen, wäre perfekt. Nichts für große Gespanne oder Womos. Weg könnte etwas breiter sein.

Liked The shower and toilet facilities were fantastic. Immaculately clean with a luxury feel you wouldn’t expect at a campsite.

Lovely individual pitches laid out with shrubs and wildflowers. Pretty and relaxed spot to chill.

Coastal spots still within striking distance.

Liked We were met by a very friendly helpful and accommodating hostess. Shown to our placement and informed of all the amenities and where they are, and immediately settled into the natural beauty of the peaceful surroundings, landscaped by the hostess, which also accommodated an abundance of butterflies and bee’s. The communal marquee not only has seating and tables and fridge and freezer for all guests, it also has an equipped children’s play area with a sand pit outside. We were then greeted by the host who was very welcoming to us and all the campers, he helped us with the Wi-Fi code and we talked about that they had recently opened the amazing shower/ toilet block and facilities that he designed and built himself which cater for the able and disabled. We will definitely be revisiting and would thoroughly recommend this gorgeous campsite to everyone.

Liked We were warmly greeted by the friendly owner who has worked hard to create a beautiful, well thought-out campsite: lovely planting and landscaping lead to individual and interesting pitches, all surrounded by a wooded, countryside setting. The sanitary facilities are the best we’ve ever seen. The owner was even able to help out with my broken glasses (his partner is working on them as I type!). Great free WiFi too. And all this just a short drive away from the beautiful pink granite coast. We’re finding it hard to leave - and will certainly be back!

Disliked Possibly not suitable for large motorhomes - but fine for our large (6m) camper van - probably best to just check with owner.

Local attractions

Taking it easy is the order of the day around here – ask owners Just and Janna for their local recommendations and they’ll point you towards cute little villages to wander around, brocantes (flea markets and antique shops) to poke about in, and quiet trails for a taste of the countryside. Places like Château de Rosanbo and La Combe aux Ânes (both 10 minutes’ drive) may also feature on your list of places to go. Up at the coast, there are some spectacular walks around places like Le Grand Rocher (10 minutes) and the rocks at Perros-Guirec (half an hour). For beach time, Plage de Porz Mabo (25 minutes) and Plage de Tresmeur (half an hour) are a couple of the favourites. And don’t miss a trip to Plestin-les-Grèves (15 minutes), where the Temple Gallo-romain de Coz Ilis sits right above the beach. For other days out, wander among the half-timbered houses of Lannion (15 minutes) or step back in time at Village Gaulois (25 minutes). On damp days, plot a course instead to Le Radôme - Cité des Télécoms and Planetarium De Bretagne (both 25 minutes).
