What customers say

Sparkling clean, well-kept site with roomy pitches, ace facilities and dead-set friendly owners. Great on-site tucker, chill vibe, and a ripper base for Normandy. A bit of road noise and the village is quiet, but most reckon it's a cracker and will be back.

Liked Everything.
Good sized pitches, separated by trees/bushes.
Lovely spacious showers with good water pressure.
Clean toilets
Dyson hand dryers
The setting for the bar/restaurant is lovely in a little courtyard. Food was good.
Small swing slide set, ping pong table, table football and darts.
Loads of open space for kids to run about. Excellent WiFi even at both pitches we stayed at (you don’t have to stay close to the main hub to get it).
We didn’t use them but I believe there are facilities like microwaves, shared fridge available.
Honestly can’t fault the place, we liked it so much we booked it again for our journey home. I wish all campsites were like this!

Disliked I can’t think of anything anyone would dislike.

Liked Beautiful campsite!! So peaceful. Showers and toilets are immaculate. Restaurant has lovely food and local cider and wine. We planned on staying 1 night as stopped to visit Mont Saint Michel (only an hour drive from site) planned to stay near Paris after but ended up not going to Paris and staying there for 3 nights. We got upgraded to a premium pitch for our last night which had the sun all day, and views overlooking empty fields. Owners and staff are very pleasant and accommodating. Will defo return next year!

Liked This campsite was an absolute gem! From start to finish, everything about our stay was perfect. The site itself is beautiful and incredibly peaceful a real haven to come back to after a day of exploring France.
Our pitch was spacious and well-kept, the facilities were spotless, and the showers were some of the best we’ve experienced on a campsite hot, powerful, and immaculately clean. The food on-site was fresh and delicious, and nothing was ever too much trouble for the friendly staff who made us feel so welcome.
We stayed for 7 nights and loved having such a relaxing base to return to whether it was to enjoy a cold beer, tuck into a tasty meal, or simply unwind. I would highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a peaceful, friendly, and well-run place to stay.
We’ll definitely be back!

Liked Incredibly beautiful and very well organised site. Friendly and helpful staff and a lovely toilet block. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed it very much. We noticed a number of guests staying only one night on a stop over but this site is well worth a longer stay to relax in the beautiful surroundings. We were in a caravan but still noticed the incredible attention to detail to make all campers, whether on bikes, in tents or any kind of outfit, comfortable with great amenities. Very good wifi too! Highly recommend.

Zone B fully-serviced grass site (large)

Liked The review is from two adults and three late teenagers aged 17, 17 and 18.

The campsite is located in a pretty picturesque village in Normandy approximately five hours from the channel tunnel but easier access via ferry ports.

Our plot was a B grade and it has its own water supply and electric. The pitch has a slight slope but we were prepared with our levelling chocks and did not impact on our stay. The pitch allowed us to erect our Coleman XL driveway awning and VW camper (just to check sizes) and still plenty of room to sit out the front or even put another car or little tent.

The staff are friendly who are fluent in French and English. Reception has tourist information and a selection of beers, ciders and wines.Sweets and ice cream for the children plus some basic essentials.

On site food is offered with choice of burgers, hotdogs or fish all served with chips. There are chicken strips for those with a smaller apetite. I recommend the Normandie burger. Friday is BBQ night and well worth planning for.

The facilities are there for all to use a microwave, hot plate, fridge freezer. TV room with a selection of games to be played pool or table football. Outside is table tennis. WiFi on site is amazing and as I type this away from reception I have two bars out of three coverage. With three teenagers no issues identified with the WiFi so speaks for itself.

Only minor criticism is the number of washing up sinks- there are two sinks , which are covered and within a lovely traditional stone structure.- With the water points, maybe a future consideration would be for washing up points in the zones but it would not stop us returning this is minor.

The showers and other facilities are clean and fresh with a modern feel. There is even a hairdryer for the metrosexual male!

A short walk and you in the lovely village - it felt a mainly flat walk but it is a very slight incline. Along the way you can see buildings and historic photographs are matched to them showing WW2 views to today. A small shop that’s sells milk and bread and a choice of butcher’s.

Overall This is a gem of a site that puts others to shame in terms of service and a great place to base yourself to visit the historic rich area of Normandie.

Local attractions

Start with a visit to Saint-Martin-des-Besace’s Musée 44 La Percée du Bocage (a 10-minute walk), dedicated to the allies’ liberation of Normandy, then get a slow-paced feel for the region on horseback with a tour from one of the stables within 10 minutes’ drive. More high-octane pursuits beckon 15 minutes away at the partially demolished Viaduc de la Souleuvre, where catapulting off towering objects (with bungee-cord firmly attached) is encouraged, and at Parc Festyland themepark on the outskirts of Caen, 40 minutes from base. Caen is a top spot for an urban day or two, with abbeys, memorials, museums, châteaux, gardens and (of course) shops to traipse around – but those in need of scenic vistas might do better to turn their sights to the coast, where the spectacular famed Mont Saint-Michel towers above the sea. History buffs left wanting more after trips to the beaches of D-Day can dedicate a day to the town of Bayeux, where the 70-metre Bayeux tapestry is on display depicting the story of William the Conqueror, and the Baron Gérard art museum adds to the cultural experience. Within 15 minutes, those whose passions lie in the open air can spend days whizzing along ziplines and poking around treetops at Accrobranche Mayya, and budding zoologists can get their fix among the white lions, Siberian tigers and red cat-bears – that’s red pandas – at Zoo de Jurques.
