Local attractions

Kids will have a field day at Clapping Wicket, as Heatherton World of Activities (five minutes’ drive) has paint-balling challenges and archery sessions. And that’s not all, as you can also treat youngsters to safari walks and rollercoasters at Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (10 minutes), or Oakwood Theme Park’s (15 minutes) high-octane rides. Younger kids may prefer the gentle go-karts and woodland trail at The Dinosaur Park Tenby (10 minutes). Chances are the beach may come a close second to the theme parks. Your nearest choices are the two sandy swards in Tenby (15 minutes), the popular stretch at Saundersfoot or the quieter pebble-and-sand beach at Monkstone (both 10 minutes), which is accessed by steep steps down the cliffs. To learn a little about the ancient heritage of south Wales, have a stroll around the photogenic ruins of Lamphey Bishop’s Palace (15 minutes), once the country retreat of Welsh clergy, or walk around the sculpture trail in the beautiful gardens at impressive 13th-century Upton Castle (10 minutes).

Fresh West bell tent

Liked: We stayed in the bell tent which was amazing! As it was a cheaper option we were pleasantly surprised to find it included a log burner, camping stove, bbq, chairs and all different utensils along with airbeds! The host was fabulous, couldn't do enough to help and kept us well stocked with wood for the duration of our stay.
Toilets always had loo roll (from experience elsewhere that's not always a given!) and the electric shower was another plus.
We travelled with our 8 year old son and 15 year old daughter, there was plenty of space and the kiddies enjoyed having space to play tennis and using the football goals provided.
The sunset was beautiful and with limited light pollution we were treated to a beautiful view of the sky full of stars!
My son said to mention the Spiders 😂 as with all camping experiences our 8 legged friends came to visit but it did mean that none of us got bitten so that was a win win!
Would definitely recommend visiting and will look at staying there again 😊

Fresh West bell tent

Liked: Brilliant location. Friendly, helpful people running the site. Small site so not too busy. We stayed in the Fresh West Bell tent and it was lovely, kitted out with most things that we needed.

Disliked: Could use another/updated shower and a communal electricity source for those without electric hook ups.
