  • Peaceful site on a family-run farm 10 minutes' drive from Penygroes
  • 10 minutes' ride from the traffic-free Lôn Eifion bike path
  • Snowdonia National Park and Llŷn Peninsula beaches within 20 minutes
The beaches of the Llyn Peninsula in one direction, the lakes and peaks of Snowdonia National Park in the other, and neither more than a 15-minute drive away… what a cracking location has Snowdonia and Coast Glamping. Not fluent in the Welsh lingo? Then you’ll not be aware that the site’s original name, cae bach, translates as ‘small field’ – and it is indeed part of a family-run hill farm, although you’ll see from the pics that it’s rather more spacious than the name might suggest. This restful rural retreat is a 10-minute drive from amenities in the little village of Penygroes, and has easy access to miles of local lanes for strolls. Should you prefer pedal power, the popular Lôn Eifion bike path is close by for safe cycling days. Given the stunning views all around, it’s perhaps not surprising that the folks here have chosen to prioritise a peaceful vibe over lots of distracting activities. With that in mind they’ve kept facilities down to the essentials: a communal kitchen is well equipped with a hob, microwave, fridge and plenty of pots and pans, and there’s a toilet block with showers. You’re welcome to light up a barbecue or campfire for cosy evenings, and firepits are available to hire.

Route directions

If following a sat nav please note it will finish the journey before you get to the site. Don't stop at a neighbouring house; carry on and follow signs for the last 500 metres until you arrive at the farm. From the A55 – Bangor – Caernarfon direction If you travel from the A55 carriageway, turn off the Caernarfon / Bangor junction on to the A487. Travel on the A487 towards Caernarfon. Travel through Caernarfon by following the A487 signs towards Porthmadog (there are a few roundabouts which you need to go straight on). Take care at the Roundabout in Llanwnda NOT to travel straight on the A499- turn left on the sliproad on the roundabout – follow the Porthmadog / Dolgellau signs – keep on the A487! You will come to another three roundabouts – go straight on. After the road dips, you will go under a bridge. Carry on the A487 until you see a big TandG sign on you right – you need to turn right - off the A487 at these signs. If you reach the small village of Pantglas you will need to turn back! This will take you on to a small lane over a couple of cattle grids. Follow the country lane right down, turn right near the quarry and carry on. After passing one house on your left you will arrive at Graianog Farm. You will see the farmhouse on your left and the farm sheds on your right, pass the house and you will see the site on your left. From the Porthmadog direction If you travel from Porthmadog direction on the A487 you need to travel for about seven miles to the direction of Caernarfon. After going through the village on Pantglas (blink and you will miss it) take the first turning on the left after the village, where you’ll see a big TandG sings. Follow the country lane right down, turn right near the quarry and carry on. After passing one house on your left you will arrive at Graianog, the farmhouse will be on your left and the farm will be on your right, pass the house and you will see the site on your left. Local attractions

You’ll get glimpses of Snowdonia National Park from the site, but this stunning area really deserves a closer look. Pack your boots and a camera for some spectacular hikes or bike rides, whatever your fitness levels. Head to Beddgelert, half an hour away, for gentle riverside rambles, or get set for an assault on Snowdon, 45 minutes away, if you’re up for something more challenging. Looking coastwards, there are some lovely beaches on the Llyn Peninsula – Abersoch, 45 minutes away by car, is one of the most popular, but it’s also worth checking out the sandy stretches at Nefyn and Llanbedrog, half an hour away, or crunching along the pebbles at scenic Aberdesach, 10 minutes away. History buffs may like to visit Caernarfon Castle (20 minutes) or the Welsh Slate Museum (half an hour), or take a nostalgic (and splendidly scenic) ride on the Welsh Highland Railway from Porthmadog, 20 minutes away. A day out at the seaside village of Portmeirion (famed as the setting for TV show The Prisoner) is an excellent idea too, and only 25 minutes away by car.

Liked Lovely accomodation, I couldn't fault anything! There are plates and cutlery provided as well as your own allocated toilet and shower cubicle to use during your stay! The glamping site is brilliantly located for exploring Snowdon and the surrounding areas. The host was very friendly and came to see us on the Saturday evening to introduce themselves and check everything was OK, which was a nice touch (we arrived late Friday and set off before lunch time on Saturday so this was the first opportunity) can't wait to stay here again, and already planning the next trip!

Disliked Nothing!
