After nightly entertainment, bars and restaurants? Kilvrecht Caravan and Camp Site in Perthshire is not right for you. It’s all about fresh air, wildlife and peace – so if you want to hear birds singing in a woodland setting, Kilvrecht is absolutely the place for you. You are welcome to pitch anywhere in the grass fields; they can get soggy after rainfall, so check any prospective pitches on foot first. The warden is happy to help you find the best spot for your particular set up. There are separate toilet blocks, washing-up facilities and drinking water taps around the site, but no formal shower facilities – however, there are private wet-room cubicles with sinks and hot water for washing. Pets are welcome, but must be kept under close control at all times. Exercise them on the shores of stunning Loch Rannoch (there’s direct access from the pitches), which you can hike or cycle (the site has e-bike charging stands) around on quiet roads to enjoy the spectacular Highland scenery. You can also fish the loch; buy permits at the local village shop in Kinloch Rannoch (10 minutes’ drive). Refreshments and a small store are also available in Kinloch Rannoch. Both the towns of Pitlochry (50 minutes) and Aberfeldy (40 minutes) have a range of shops and eateries.

What customers say

Lovely, peaceful escape with great woodland walks. Friendly warden, clean basic facilities, and plenty of space. Midges a minor bother for some, weak phone signal. Highly recommended for its calm vibe and tidy grounds.

Powered concrete and grass caravan site

Liked What an amazing place..its absolutely beautiful...we knew there were no showers before we arrived but washing in the sinks wasn't a problem...its better to take your own food as not many places to get supplies or to eat out...my fault for not reading you have to pay cash on arrival but the shop/post office in the village allows you to withdraw cash so that solved the problem. ..midges are to be expected...its Scotland after all and that's what happens but they didn't bother us too much..the phone signal was brilliant...better than when i stayed in Blackpool ...Will definitely be back

Unpowered concrete and grass caravan site

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Beautiful rural location with plenty of space and good facilities. The immediate walks in the area are pretty and not too strenuous.

Plenty of space to pitch tents, I chose the back woods area which were nice and private but had plenty of midges. Something to be expected in a lot of places.

Well kept toilets and dish cleaning area and with fresh water taps across the site. No showers but there are cubicles with hot and cold water to large basins for personal cleaning. I personally liked them as the water temperature was hot and it reduced the amount of water used.

Ellie was fantastic, very knowledgeable and had great stories. Really made us feel welcome.

Very good Internet access (mobile signal) should you need it.

Disliked DO BRING CASH TO PAY. There is no card reader on site, there is a workaround but it's much easier to pay all upfront or bring cash.

Unpowered grass caravan site

Liked Amazing spot for a night under the stars! stayed for one night in a tent and absolutely loved it. The campsite is located ina beautiful, peaceful area with incredibly fresh air perfect for a short escape from the city. Everything was very clean and well-maintained, from the toilets and showers to the common areas. It's clear the place is run with care and attention to detail. There's plenty of space to pitch a tent, and even though it was just one night, I felt relaxed and safe. The atmosphere was calm and quiet, great for a good night's sleep.
highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, clean, and natural camping experience. definitely be coming back, next time for longer!

Powered concrete and grass caravan site

Liked The site was lovely. Great for a chilled and peaceful few nights away. There was loads of space for the kids to play and their bikes. We loved all the walks and trails that left straight from the site and enjoyed some geocaching and picking wild blueberries. The facilities were great. No showers but plenty hot water for getting washed☺️

Disliked The midges🤣

Powered concrete and grass caravan site

Liked Lovely quiet basic site. We took our own usb shower and a bucket which would allow you to have a shower within the facilities provided (Although we have an onboard shower in the van). Everything clean and tidy. great dog walks. would use again. Warden friendly. plenty of hardstanding pitches with EHU. £27 for hardstanding with EHU. scenery lovely. Take what you need though as nothing near.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Peaceful - options for camping spaces - simple and clean toilet block with sinks. Great location with forest walks from the campsite, Loch Rannoch nearby and easy access to Rannoch Moor.

Disliked Not a campsite issue but mobile data signal is nil in some areas of the campsite. Some sort of WiFi access would be good as a solo traveler to be able to check in with home, check maps/weather etc.
