What customers say

Great spot, friendly staff, and clean facilities. Nice woodland walk for dogs. Armstrong's restaurant is good. Some found pitches small, a bit of road noise, but loved the low light pollution for stargazing. No Wi-Fi noted.

Liked Very peaceful, really busy but also very quiet with lots of space, and easy access to all amenities ( I loved the low light pollution giving lovely views of the stars at night). Easy to set up with levelling pads on the pitches to keep your tourer level.

Disliked There is a dog walk but I have spaniels so had to drive to find long enough walks away from roads. However, there might be more walks closer and I just missed them. Not having Wi-Fi on site is a bit strange - if you don’t want contacted you can switch off your devices - but very few businesses don’t offer Wi-Fi.

Liked There is a tiny forest nearby where you can walk with your dog.

Disliked The noise of the road and the small size of the places without privacy. For us it was too busy here.

Liked Well maintained site and friendly helpful staff. Our pitch was very central and near one of the toilet blocks. Nice mixture of tourers, seasonal pitches and statics. Toilets and showers were clean and no issues with plenty of hot water. There is a lovely little woodland walk on site for dog owners or just for a quiet stroll. Armstrong's restaurant/bar is right next to the entrance of the campsite and serves lovely selection of meals, their Sunday carvery was superb too. The campsite is well positioned for visiting local attractions and we had a round of golf at Brechin golf course.

Disliked The pitch we were allocated on arrival for our touring caravan was mostly level but not carrying any levelling ramps we were abit uneven but it didn't spoil our enjoyment.

Local attractions

Make the Macbethian Glamis Castle your first stop; as well as inspiring the Bard, the 14th-century castle is the family home of the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne and was the childhood home of Lilibet Senior the Queen Mum and the birthplace of Princess Margaret. Historyheads will find plenty to see in Angus, from exploring the lives of the Picts at the Pictavia Visitor Centre in the grounds of Brechin Castle to browsing around the 12th-century Arbroath Abbey. Next up should be painting the town red at Kirriemuir: the sandstone ‘Little Red Town’ is the gateway to the Angus Glens but worth making a stop at too – there are plenty of Pan-like attractions to see, including a statue of Peter Pan among the town’s cobbled streets. Also zoom along to the cottage of JM Barrie’s birthplace, with a living-willow crocodile, Pirates’ Workshop and flying in the Peter Pan Experience to try (and original manuscripts and Barrie’s writing desk on view for the literary lot). Then make your way to the Angus Glens, which are part of the Cairngorms National Park and which reach from Kirriemuir to the foot of the Grampian Mountains for hiking, mountaineering and skiing; Kirriemuir Den with its walks and waterfall is also a popular spot.
