What customers say
Great for "wild camping" with private, spacious pitches in woodland. Basic but clean facilities (compost toilets, cold showers). Relaxed vibe, great wildlife, campfires, and friendly staff. Some traffic noise & uneven ground.

Unpowered forest floor tent site
Liked Very nice woodland with plenty of interesting features. Camping is on the wild side, a welcome change from the usual boring flat rectangle field of most campsites.
Superb fire pit and benches, stumps for wood chopping - everything you need.
The pitches are secluded from each other, you are unlikely to see another tent from your own pitch, I saw a Muntjack or similar deer at the site!
Disliked Some pitches are sloped or lumpy

Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Great back-to-basics campsite. We camped in one of the small clearings. Enough room for 3 small tents and feels good under the trees. Cold showers not really that cold in Sep and ideal to wash mud off. Just about perfect.
Disliked Some guy with a very penetrating voice in one of the other clearings over 100m away - even through earplugs! Not Dagger Wood’s problem but keep it down after hours please 🙏

Overall a good camping experience nearly every time.
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked I like the fact that it's wild camping with composting toilets.
And the fairly new planted trees and camping spots.
Thanks Henry. 😊
Disliked I don't like the fact that most of the pitches are sloping, it could be leveled off somewhat.
The fairly new planted trees need to have the lower branches trimmed and some of the trees thinned out to bring light in and bringing other plants and wildlife to the area below the trees.

Wanna go back again.
Unpowered forest floor tent site
Liked Proper rustic camping, loved it. We went swimming in the river and had campfire every night. Loads of room in the field for playing games.
Portoloos were fine.
Disliked Bit loud one night but sounded like it was coming from another camp site. Kids slept through it.

Beautiful and calm site, very helpful and accomodating site manager.
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Super helpful site manager, clean, quiet, lovely pitch tucked away with lots of trees, toilets and bins emptied frequently
Disliked Could have a curtain for a bit more privacy in the shower, but the water pressure is great!
