Fancy a bit of fishing in the East Sussex countryside? Head to the hardstanding pitches at Lakeside Retreat and it will be right there in front of you…
There are just a few pitches at this mixed farm near Haywards Heath, and they all look out over the fishing lake, which is stocked with carp of up to 12 lb and available for guests to fish on a catch-and-return basis. The pitches are well spaced and each supplied with electric and water hookups as well as having access to a grey water/chemical waste disposal unit.
This is a site that feels nicely secluded thanks to its peaceful farmland surroundings, but in fact it’s rather well connected – the village of Wivelsfield Green is around a mile away, with a village shop, convenience store and pub, and there’s also another pub and an independent brewery taproom within walking distance. For more amenities, it’s a 10-minute drive to Haywards Heath or 20 minutes to Lewes.
While kids and dogs are welcome at this site, it’s worth being well aware of the potential dangers of the lake and making sure you keep young children and non-swimmers safely away from the water.

- Group bookings of 2 or more adults are not permitted (couples and immediate family members excepted).

- Guests under the age of 10 are not allowed on site.
- As a nudist campground/park, guests of all ages must comply with the nudist policy if holidaying on the campground.
- Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.
- At least one of the party members must be aged 25 or over.
- Bookings must not consist of more than 1 different households.
- No gas barbecues allowed.
- No charcoal barbecues allowed.
- No electric barbecues allowed.
- Swimming in the lake is not allowed.
- There are no bins onsite: all rubbish will need to be taken home with you.
- There is no reception building on-site: on arrival please contact the number provided on your booking confirmation.
- Fires, barbecues and/or firepits will not be permitted in dry, windy and/or hot weather conditions.
