Great value wild camping spot, offering peace & quiet with handy facilities. Plenty of space, campfires allowed, friendly owners. Basic loos & tap, though some noted portaloo/bin issues. Secure entry.

A great stay all around
Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Very secure and great for the kids as there are a few animals there and lots of fields to explore. Thank you to the lady who owns the place for helping me with my car too when the kids flattened my battery 🙂. Even though the toilets are basic it was very clean and well maintained. A great night all round

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Just had a lovely time here. Great for basic camping, portaloo was clean. Kids loved it and will be visiting again. Met Louise the host, who gave us some fresh eggs 😊 and her 2 lovely daughters and some of the dogs who were very well behaved.

Liked Basic 'wild' campsite, exactly as expected and described. Portable toilet, bin and water tap. 45 min bus into Newcastle a short walk away and suited us perfectly for what we needed.

Liked Lovelly place, big pitches, nice walking area

From the manager: Thank you for your booking & leaving a review . Sorry you only ranked us 7/10 & were disappointed with the activities/facilities as well described it is literally just a 60day pop up tent space “wild camp’ rather than a camp site
Wild camping but with a loo!
Unpowered concrete slab motorhome site
Liked Exactly as described. Small rural back to basics site with a portaloo and a bin. We loved the feeling of being off grid in our van without the fear of being moved on. Site was really quiet.
Disliked Absolutely no phone signal

From the manager: Thank you very much for your booking and lovely review.
There was no signal at all when we bought the farm but we installed a wifi mesh which was best we could do but it’s not perfect in some spots. We have ordered starlink but the equipment is delayed hopefully this will be better

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked I enjoyed the 'wild' nature of the campsite, being able to pitch where I liked and there was plenty of space.
Disliked I could have done with more information on where to find water, and the portaloo was close to overflowing. The double gate system to get into the campsite also seemed unnecessary. It wasn't really needed but I couldn't connect to any advertised WiFi.

From the manager: Hi
Thanks for your booking , I will change the description of where the tap is thank you but we have just fitted a second. As the farm and not a camp site per se (it’s only a 60 day pop up wild camp ) is our home the double gates are necessary due to protecting the animals from PROW users who have let animals onto the road resulting sadly in a death. We would prefer not to have them too

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Beautiful site, very clean and tidy, the peacocks were a fantastic surprise in the morning. The communication with the hosts was absolutely incredible, and as a woman camping alone I felt very safe. Portaloo was much cleaner and well stocked than I anticipated. All in all, a really good nights stay ready for the GNR the following day.
Disliked N/A as it exceeded expectation

From the manager: Thank you for your weekend booking , really glad to enjoyed the GNR. Sorry I was unwell and unable to greet you in person x
