  • Conveniently set park in the Vale of Belvoir, with fishing on site
  • Peaceful setting a mile from Elton and five miles from Belvoir Castle
  • Well-stocked tackle shop on site, plus lakeside café/bar
Fancy catching some Nottinghamshire coarse fishing? Bring your rod to Janson Fishery Caravan and Camping in Elton near Nottingham for angling days aplenty, in peaceful and green surroundings within the Vale of Belvoir National Landscape. This is an excellent spot for anglers, with a full five lakes on site (three match and two pleasure). Bag your day ticket to cast off in one of the pleasure lakes including Tomo's Lake, with carp into double figures as well as barbel, tench, roach, rudd and golden orfe all to land, and Donut Pool, a mixed lake with ide, barbel and again carp up to double figures. There are regular match days at least twice a week too (booking for these is essential), and all types of anglers will find all types of kit and bait needed in the well-stocked tackle shop. The lakeside café is open from Tuesday to Sunday for sandwiches, breakfasts and hot and cold drinks; the adjacent bar opens on Fridays (6pm-10.30pm) and Saturdays (11am-10.30pm) for refreshing drinks, and it hosts a quiz or bingo night most Saturdays. At other times, pick up self-catering supplies close by in Bingham: barbecues are allowed on site. Janson Fishery Caravan and Camping has toilets, showers and a chemical disposal facility.

What customers say

This adults-only, tidy park has super clean facilities & chill vibes, loved by guests. Great for anglers with heaps of lakes and a tackle shop, plus nice walks. Mostly quiet, but some mention road noise. A few unisex bathrooms, but kept clean. Staff are friendly & it's good value.

Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site (lake view)

Liked All requirements catered for and lovely pitch beside one of the fishing lakes. Easy to locate. Cafe and shop (mainly fishing tackle) on site although I didn't have a chance to use either.
Great field adjacent to exercise the dog (apart from some sharp thistles!)

Disliked Shower a little grimy. Slightly noisy pitch near the road.

Liked Lovely peaceful and quiet campsite. Adults only which suited us. Nice toilets and shower facilities with lots of hot water. Well maintained pitches and nice rural area.
The owners were very friendly and helpful too. There is a nice bar and cafe on site which also does social activities ie bingo quiz etc . All the people staying at the site were lovely and friendly. No noise at all which was exactly what we wanted for a relaxing bank Holiday weekend. . Super WiFi connection large pitch for our tent.

Disliked Nothing to dislike on this camp site. Definitely come back.

Powered grass caravan site (lake view)

Liked Friendly welcome and picturesque site around the fishing lakes. Roomy pitch. Fish and Sips Bar was welcoming. We only had one drink there.
Powerful warm shower.

Disliked Only 2 unisex toilet/showers. Floors very wet. Mop and bucket looked like they needed cleaning and refreshing. Water inside looked like it had been there for days.
Only 1 or 2 hooks to hang clothes. Heater wasn't working (not required as fairly warm).
One shower had no drain cover.
No obvious separation for rubbish.
