Liked We had a really lovely stay here. The site was super quiet and peaceful — exactly what we were looking for.

It’s a self check-in setup so we didn’t meet the owners, but everything was straightforward and easy. The facilities were basic but clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

The surrounding area is beautiful, with amazing walks nearby and a really cute farm café close by which was such a bonus.

If you’re looking for a calm, low-key base in a lovely location, this is a great choice. We’d definitely return.

Liked Great walks from the site. Fantastic pub 10 mins walk away. Nice café serving coffee and cakes.

Disliked Never saw or heard from owners in the 5 days we were there. Showers / toilet facilities were very dirty, hadn't been cleaned at all whilst we were there, no toilet rolls in the 2 self contained facilities all the time we were staying. Gravel path needed to bins and waste disposal. Rubbish bins were full. Just seemed very unloved by the owners (but you are charging people for staying at your site)

We’re really pleased you enjoyed the local walks, the nearby pub and the cafe, we actually run the cafe ourselves, so it’s especially nice to hear you enjoyed the coffee and cakes. We’re very lucky to be surrounded by such lovely spots and are glad you were able to make the most of them.

We are a very small, family run rural campsite, and alongside the site we also run a working farm and have small children. At this time of year, when we may only have one or two bookings, it simply isn’t viable for us to have the site continuously staffed. However, our phone number is provided on booking confirmations and displayed in multiple places around the site, and we are always happy to come over straight away if needed. We never intentionally avoid guests, we just rely on people contacting us if there’s an issue.

We are, of course, concerned to read your comments about the cleanliness of the facilities and bins. That certainly isn’t the standard we aim to maintain. Had we been made aware during your stay, we would have addressed it immediately. We encourage guests to contact us at any time so we can resolve problems quickly.

We truly value our guests and do our best to balance running a small rural business with family and farm life. We’re sorry that on this occasion you felt the site was “unloved,” as that’s certainly not how we see or run it, but we do appreciate you sharing your experience.

Liked Lovely site in a very quiet location with spacious pitches. Toilet and shower facilities, again, spacious and very clean. Washing up area good.
Excellent walking and cycling from the site. Very good pub 10 minutes walk away.

Disliked Only one water tap in one corner of the site.
No pathways to water or waste areas so had to walk through long wet grass and mud.

Liked The showers were lovely and warm, great water pressure. The location was great, even though it was away from the main roads, there was walking routes. Also a lovely cafe linked to the farm (The Farmers Yard) 5 minute walk away and a pub a bit further up the road. The option of having a hard standing pitch with no EHU was great as not many places that we know of do that.

Disliked No/weak wifi signal however this didn't bother us too much as we have a booster. This can be forgiven due to the location and surroundings :)

Liked Lovely and remote, which is just what we wanted. Check in is by text, which I actually prefer as quick and easy. The local pub did AMAZING food and everyone was really friendly. It was lovely to walk along the river and watch the sunset. A huge plus was we could have a fire pit! All in all, a wonderful break away from it all which is what we wanted. TIP: No shops nearby so make sure you have everything you need. Check the opening hours and food times of the pub before hand to avoid disappointment.

Disliked I loved the site on the whole, but like everyone else in the reviews, paper towels would be a really quick easy thing to install in the toilets. When you go for a wee, you don't remember to grab a towel and I ended up just drying my hands on my jeans. Also, just a basic gravel path to the toilets and waste areas would make the world of a difference.
