What customers say

Newfold Farm's a ripper spot in the Peak District, ace for trekkers with heaps of trails right on the doorstep. Travellers rave about the spick-and-span new loos and showers, the friendly staff, and the cafe/pizza oven. They've done some good work here! While a few found the old loos and some spots a bit daggy, and there was the odd bit of noise, most folks reckon it's brilliant and are keen to come back.

Liked Really friendly staff. Beautiful campsite close to pub, shops, and walks. All types of camping permitted. Great new toilets, which were clean. Very quiet and peaceful stay. Most pitches are on a hill. ( not a like or dislike just info)

Liked Great cafe with lovely food.
Post office on site.
Shower facilities were good 👍

Disliked Noisy campers that would not stick to rules of being quiet after 10pm. After a long day hiking that’s the last thing you want.

Liked Perfect location to explore the Hope valley on foot, or take the train and go further afield. Friendly staff and superp views from the pitch. Lovely new shower block too. The pub across the road is well worth a visit if you fancy a night off from cooking! Will definitely be back to explore some more.

Disliked Having to leave!

Local attractions

Draw a straight line from this well-placed site and you're bound to come across something that tickles your fancy. Heading west? Stop off for strolls at Ladybower Reservoir (25 minutes' drive). South? Buxton's fancy shops and theatres are on hand, as are the gorgeous grounds of Chatsworth House (40 minutes). Up for some underground explores? This site is a breezy 15-minute drive from Castleton, a village deep in the White Peak where there are caves and caverns aplenty. Bobbing up and down along underground watercourses is on the cards at Speedwell Cavern, where subterranean boat trips are up for grabs. The nearby Blue John Cavern, meanwhile, also has much to marvel at, including Waterfall Cavern and its shimmering multi-coloured dome… When you emerge bleary-eyed back into broad daylight, you’ll probably be struck by the shadow of mighty Mam Tor (10 minutes from base). Hike up this handsome hill for a three-mile circular trail that'll stretch your legs and open your eyes to some exceptional vistas – on sunny days you'll also likely have the bonus sight of daredevil paragliders circling and swooping overhead.
