If you bring a smaller tent you can camp river side. WiFi was a huge plus to have maps load before leaving campsite.

Bring change for shower, didn't read about that ahead of time.

Fantastic location for walks and exploring the area. Friendly staff and quiet site .Well equipped pitches. Dog washing tap came in useful !

No WiFi and paying for showers when site was quite expensive

The pitches are in a great location directly next to the river and close by to the toilets and washing facilities. The showers were clean and lovely and hot (it’s 50p for 10 mins and the machines only take a 50p piece). The Gentlemen who meets you at reception was both lovely and extremely helpful. He’s also very knowledgable about the area and couldn’t do enough to help us out. The closest Pub is a stones throw away from the site which served lovely food and was also dog friendly. I would definitely recommend the site however there was very little to do close by.

The Wi-Fi signal was very hit and miss and the journey to the site required a little more planning than we had anticipated. The loss of signal for the sat nav made this difficult and the route took us over Hardknott pass which I definitely wouldn’t recommend … especially if you suffer from high blood pressure. Definitely avoid this route unless your a F1 driver.

The site was a nice size and the pitch we had was very generous. It was next to the river and very close to the pub. Location for walks was good.

We had to use the laundry room to do the washing up but the sink was very low so I had to bend over which isn't great when you have a bad back . There was a sign on the door which said the shower block was heated but it was cold. You also had to pay 50p for a shower which isn't a lot but you pay to stay on the site so it should be included. I didn't use the hair dryer but that was another 20p.
The shower and laundry blocks could do with knocking down and rebuilding, it could be a lovely little site. The waste disposal was overflowing.

Lovely stay. Warden is awesome, lovely fella who made us feel right at home and was great with the kids.
Pitch was great, right next to the river and very quiet.
Was brilliant for what we needed-pub is so close and they were great with my boys, 20mins from parking up to walk scafell pike and the showers were hot and lasted the full 10mins. This is a lovely little campsite and we will come back. (VW campervan).

Beautiful little site. We were parked by the river, lovely spacious and level pitch. Friendly greeting on arrival. Facilities were clean and tidy. The Bridge inn pub is 5 mins walk away, great food and friendly staff, dogs and muddy boots welcome 🙂. 10 min walk to a coffee shop and gift shop. Great place for beautiful walks and short drive to little villages. We drove about 5 miles to wast water lake and it was such a beautiful place, walkers paradise or just to sit by the lake and enjoy the amazing views. If your are traveling with caravan or motor home i would advise you not to follow your sat nav to the site but use your map as the roads are quite narrow and some bits steep with tight bends. 😐 Wifi isn't good but im not interested in wifi when I'm away 🙂

Really friendly warden could not do enough for us.
Lovely and peaceful next to the river.
Toilets' where very clean

The only washing up basin worked was in the Launderette and the water was warm for only a few minutes, no other facilities available due to not being turned on because of fear of outside pipes freezing
No shop on site or within walking distance
Very petty charging 50p for showers, i think the toilet and shower room could do with a bit of heating and a refurb
Local Pub you can see from site. the food was average eat there twice the staff are deadly miserable i think this was reflected by the manageress! has for the statement from their web page

This is far from true.

Good location right next to a pub lots of walking routes and a running river next to the site. Clean and tidy nobody else there as it was Jan but still a nice little site.

Showers cost 50p for around 10 mins which is fine but the showers are pretty low pressure as they are electric.

Very clean and a great setting next to the river. Turned up late but spoke to the owner and he was very accommodating. Nice pub at top of the road too ….. Highly recommend
