Lovely location, loved hearing the sound of the river. And friendly staff! Big motorhome pitch with plenty of space. Plus you u can walk to the pub 2 mins away and get a takeaway pint!

Friendly welcome. Good sized pitches, fully serviced. All facilities easily accessible. Proximity of pub, serving good beer and food.

Location, location, location. Nice river just behind and only 15-20 min drive to the Wast Water and Wasdale Head.
Andy who is looking after the site is nice and helpful.

Facilities were at a poor condition. Lots of mould and rust. Very unpleasant.
WiFi is available but not everywhere and when there are more visitors connected it barely works.
Mobile reception is only with the EE network.

Beautiful location with a river flowing through its so peaceful. Toilets and shower areas are clean and showers lovely and warm.

You have to pay 50p per shower that we didn’t know about so had to drive into the local town to get some 50ps.
Also the water in the shower comes out boiling hot when 1st switched on like “scolding” so be careful.
There are no fridges on site for tent campers so we were buying daily.

Well kept site in a lovely location. Local pub serving delicious food with lots of choice.
Great for exploring the Western Lakes and Wast Water in particular.
The site manager was friendly and helpful and amenities were great.

Great location if you like the outdoors, not far from wast water, and scafell pike, lovely pub next door with decent food, nice fully serviced pitches next to the river which sends you off to sleep, toilets and shower clean and perfectly adequate for camp size, felt welcomed by the campsite warden.
Will definitely be back again.

River got high one night of our stay due to the adverse weather they had previously and through the first part of out holiday. This is no fault of the site just mother nature

The location was great nice and relaxing just next to the river IRt. Well looked after site, Andy the warden went up and beyond I wanted some eggs as I had forgot them, he said I will get you some from the farm when I go tomorrow morning, following day he knocked on our motorHome with the eggs saying that they didn’t have any at the farm so I bought you some from shop,what a guy thanks Andy I really appreciated that. There is a lovely tea rooms just up the road from the site and gift shop we had a meal there it was yummy not badly priced to, the gift shop is a bit expensive but has some nice gifts, the bridge pub has good meals which is 1 min walk from the site

Everything about the campsite was amazing, facilities and staff manager and the beautiful noise of the river , especially Bobby the dog 🐕, even the rain didn’t stop us from exploring the surrounding areas, we will definitely go back and stay at ( the old post office). 👍🏕️✅
