Wifi not very good but not an issue for us - we don't need wifi!!
Some people might be bothered - we made one call from the pub which had great wifi so was easily resolved

Lovely peaceful camp site, ground was firm enough to pitch a tent. Lovely river running by the site. Staff very friendly and happy to chat.

Not necessarily bad but you have to come prepared there is no where to buy food/amenities. 50p to use the shower was abit cheeky considering in our case that we paid £60 for the spot to camp.

Spacious, level pitches, nice riverside location, pub just next door. Facilities are more than adequate if they all worked! Good location as a base for further exploration into the western fells. Great bakery down the road in Gosforth.

This site has so much potential to be great.

The facilities just need a real good deep clean! Previous reviews suggest facilities are dated, i feel they are more than adequate, just in need of a deep clean, and also regularly cleaning. Cob webs high up, other peoples hair and general fluff. The mop in the gents only moved once during our four night stay and the same bits of filth were still there four days later. When paying in the £30 to £40 a night bracket I expect things to be pretty well kept compared to a £20. a nighter. It would also be nice if the hot water in the gents sinks worked, after a four night stay I was getting a little peeved at washing in cold water. Lots of basic maintenance needed, only saw someone who worked there once upon arrival.

Perhaps it was end of season, but I feel the same level of attention should be given throughout.

Really lovely location, Andy came round and greeted us after we had arrived and was very friendly and welcoming. The pub next door was perfect for a post walk drink and dinner with good hearty food. Everything was clean and tidy, showers were hot just remember your 50p.

All I would say is the shower/toilet blocks seemed a little tired, maybe it’s where it’s the end of a busy summer season! But could just do with a little freshen up. But that’s just being picky.

A nice location next to the river and across from the pub.

The site facilities are very tired and it seems a little unkempt. The journey from the M6 is long and winding and should not be overlooked.

What a fabulous spot.. We were there for 3 nights.. Rain all day, day 2 but lovely site and when all is said and done, nothing they can do about the weather.. Lovely river side location.. The pub does great food and drink, although a little expensive but hey.. saves cooking and bringing your own.. Couple of white doves don't mind coming into the van to save you getting the vac out..
Shower/toilet block perfectly adequate but could do with a really good cleaning on a daily basis, I didn't mind the 50p for the shower but clean please..

Nothing really apart from the disappointment of the shower/toilet facilities..
