Good for dogs - designated walking areas for off lead exercise and lots of woodland to walk dogs on the lead. Really liked the open spaces and having the lakes to walk around was a nice touch. Touring pitches were separated by hedges which gave a little more privacy. Facilities were clean.

The showers were very hot and you couldn’t change the temperature.
It says there is a lake for the dogs to swim in but it was a pretty murky and not as inviting as the description and pictures.
We couldn’t find any walking trails from the site which was disappointing as we were surrounded by beautiful countryside.

We were greeted by such a pleasant young lady who found our booking and guided us to our pitch. She went through some house keeping with us and left us to set up. The whole place was clean. Their facilities were just what we needed and in excellent condition. Showers were clean and warm. Toilets were accessible and clean.
The whole site was beautiful. Would definitely go back.
Nice little extra was a place to empty our portable toilet.

Great location easy to find off the main road. Perfect for exploring the Forest of Dean.
Clean & tidy site with great facilities.
The toilets & showers were lovely and clean.
Good area for washing up with a laundrette & fridge!! Which was an added bonus.
BBQ stands also provided.

Δεν μου άρεσε: Hot water very hit and miss, especially in the washing up area. I didn't like the lack of a specific drain for the waste water. The chemical disposal point is just a toilet - no surface to put the cassette on to steady it - it was really awkward to hold the cassette and rinse it out.
Thank you Debbie for the lovely feedback. Many people ask us why we do not fill the field with tents this time of year. But we like being a smaller campsite with a more friendly, cosy and spacious atmosphere for all. You will be pleased to hear we are in the process of building a brand new waste disposal point which is on the level so we hope to launch that as soon as we can get in completed.

Thank you for your feedback, we certainly aim to provide a peaceful and picturesque place for people to relax and unwind. It is possible to walk into town via the wide grass verge along the road. Although I appreciate some people do not like walking next to roads there are many that do use this route which takes approx 20mins walking. If you have any concerns about the temperature of the showers please do let us know. As it was a roasting hot weekend weather wise we happily adjust the temperature but have not had anyone report onsite that the temperature was a problem. Please do not hesitate to say something whilst onsite so we can ensure you have the best stay while your here :)
Perhaps I should explain the colour of the water in the lakes. It is not murky but deliberately coloured that way with a special harmless treatment used every three months. This is because the other two linked lakes are licensed for fishing and the water is treated to help prevent the overgrowth of unwanted weed and algae in the hot weather. The water quality is checked on a monthly basis in line with angling regulations and kept incredibly clean and oxygenated. So if you see it looking a misty blue or green that is what it is. It will not affect the dogs at all. I hope that reassures you.
If you are looking for walking routes through the neighbouring field there is a map in the facilities room which shows the tracks, or you can ask a member of staff.
