It was our first time at a pitch up site and we were very impressed with the site, clean and tidy and a warm welcome from all the staff. The location is just beautiful, not too far off the A10 and easy to access. A very safe family site, we will definitely return

The toilet block is a little dated and could do with an upgrade

Really clean facilities, quiet campsite, easy check in, safety considered with code on gate, lots of things to do, great location

Can hear planes or trains throughout night but didn’t bother us

Door camperpech hebben wij helaas niet kunnen camperen op jullie camping. Dit heb ik tijdig doorgegeven, tot op heden nog geen geld retour gehad. Ik vind dit een kwalijke zaak. Hopelijk kunnen jullie mij daarbij helpen.

Location, Accommodation & park

No electric hob to cook on or cutlery, plates, bowls this is a given with the larger accommodation even though only £10 difference in price.
Being told check out time by cleaning staff & having to prove otherwise.

All staff are so friendly and helpful. The site is in an easy find location and piece full.

Only issues is I feel the toilet blocks could do with with some TLC

Location - we stayed here purely due to its proximity to London. Station is 10 min car journey

Reception was unfriendly. Gave us the wrong pitch number and when we questioned it he said all pitches were the same. Turns out when I checked my email he had given us the wrong number and was reluctant to give us another pitch. There was duck poo everywhere so had to clear it before putting up our awning. Lots of traffic late into the evening

We only stayed the one night as it was a quick stop over on our way to the east.
Solid spot, very pretty with the ponds/lake. Very open space which was good for starlink reception.
HEAPS of Geese (and goose poo).
Clean facilities.

There was a lot of goose poo… we even found that we had taken some with us haha
What can you do though because when nature calls :)

First time staying at the site, very happy, friendly staff and well cared for grounds. Very quiet at night. Highly recommend

Great facilities and location

Shower facilities at each end of the site would be fantastic

The safari tent was well equipped with a fridge, beds and indoor and outdoor seating. You have an induction job for meals a kettle and barbecues and fire pits are allowed. It’s well equipped with cups plates and utensils. We had to buy glasses as there were none but improvised with cut up bottles until we could buy more. There were multiple sockets and lamps in the bedrooms as well as Wi-Fi which was okay not the strongest but you have the option of Premium Wi-Fi for an extra charge. There were heaters if needed but the weather was hot so we didn’t use them.
The safari tents are close to the toilets and showers which were clean and well maintained. The site feels secure has space for caravans and tents with pods too. The staff were friendly and the site generally quiet when we were there. There was a little noise from trains and planes but it didn’t impact on our stay.
We used the site as a base mostly for going into London by rail from local town Broxbourne. It’s about 30 mins into central London and we left the car in the Old Mill car park and the staff at the campsite can give you a parking voucher which allows you to park for free. The car park is about a 5 min walk to the station.
It’s a good base for walking, cycling and there was fishing.
We really liked the local pub Fish and Eels which was a 5 min walk and the local town Hoddesdon was lovely with a great cafe called Evya Cafe next to the Aldi, fantastic food at very competitive prices. We loved the charity shops there and also went to Ware which is another lovely town. One day we went to Cambridge which was about an hour away but well worth the trip.
There are a few local supermarkets a Sainsburys, Morrisons and Asda about a 5 min drive in Hoddesdon.

There were some negatives which the kids particularly felt. You can’t use the grass for playing or kicking a ball due to the amount of geese poo so the kids didn’t have a lot to do. We liked the geese who are a quirky presence, there are a lot of them but surprisingly they’re quite quiet.
There were bees under the decking of our safari tent which meant we couldn’t open the tent door as our teens would have a meltdown. It’s a difficult one as you’re in the heart of nature but it did impact on our stay as it seemed to be a hive as the bees were coming back with pollen.
The safari tent was a little tired looking and the mattresses weren’t very comfortable as I could feel the springs and the outdoor furniture could be replaced. We had to have one of them up against the wall as it tipped over when sitting on it.
Overall it was a great value stay for us as a family of 5 working out at only £14 per person per night
