Had a great time camping here. Super friendly welcome and farewell. Had a great spot overlooking the sea/whitby and the abbey. Couldn't have asked for more!

Fantastic location and very laid back attitude to pitching location

Toilets could be better but it was a bank holiday so very busy

Beautiful spot right on the cliff with Seaview in front of us and whitby Abbey out of the side door.. Loo's were cleaned every hr or so.. Only problem is the Dirty folk who use them couldn't care less! And mess them up instantly.
Again the site is well organised and great... Its people visiting that spoil it.

Went on holiday over the bank holiday weekend and stayed for 3 nights.
Plenty of spaces.
Gorgeous view overlooking the sea.
Peaceful.
Went quiet about 12 o’clock midnight.

We were camped on the cliff top which was a lovely sea view. The Whitby brewery was just next door which was handy for a drink or pizza if you didn’t want to walk the 199 steps again. Location is about a 15 minute walk into centre of Whitby at a steady pace but there are plenty of shops to browse in after you reach the bottom of the 199 steps before you even reach the centre of Whitby. The toilet block is a cabin one so very basic but clean & stocked with toilet rolls & hand cleaner daily. From this site there is no access down to the beach. A 10minute walk along the cliff top will take you to another caravan site with a shop and a way down to the beach but this is not for the faint hearted as it’s more of a make shift way down. Another thing to note is because it’s the cliff top it is breezy up there so think on about what you take and check the weather forecast. I would recommend this site just for the sea views alone & would definitely come again. We paid £25 a night so yes it's very basic but it’s what you make it I say.

I think £25 per night to just camp over is slightly too much when the site offers nothing because you can get a pod on a caravan park on pitch up for £5 more in Skegness

⭐️ Excellent location and great views, especially if you manage to pitch up right against the cliffs, or go exploring.

⭐️ Plenty to do besides the campsite - walk down the cliffs, walk around the Whitby Abbey ruins and Whitby town is only a short walk away.

⭐️ The campsite was very busy, however on the night everyone was still reasonably quiet even though it was a bank holiday weekend, everyone polite and friendly enough. Even had a visit from an ice cream van.

⭐️ Lack of facilities. 4 female toilets for the full campsite meant there were sometimes long queues for the toilet. More often than not they did not flush and sometimes there was no toilet paper left so made sure to take my own.

⭐️ Location of toilets (I understand why they’re located near the entrance) however if you’re parked further into the campsite it can be quite a walk away and very hard to locate in the middle of the night in the dark (an adventure I guess).

Great location, lots of space & selection of pitches & albeit basic the toilets were kept remarkably clean & loo roll stocked considering the amount of volume they had to deal with, views amazing & everything within walking distance, will be returning at some point, Whitby is beautiful & a great night out 🙂
