A bit cloudy 😎..

The tent pitches were very spacious and picturesque and the field was massive so even if it was very busy there would be no problem getting pitched up and enjoying your own space. The toilet and shower facilities were really modern and cleaned to a very high standard. The site wardens were friendly and helpful. The lake and surrounding woodlands were large and very scenic so it was a great location to go walking and the 'forest faces' treasure hunt was really good fun (Even for a 30 year old couple!)
Although we took our own, the site had big firepits that were free to use and delivered to your pitch by the warden which was a nice gesture. The site itself had ANPR cameras for the barrier and ramp and was fenced all way around which made it feel a very safe and secure environment.

We were surprised that given the size of it, the site did not have a shop or a bar. When the weather is a little glum and you've been there a couple of days it would be nice to have something extra to do on site.
A really strange one which I never thought would be a problem that I came across, is the toilets were too high! Without going into too much detail both myself and my wife said we felt like toddlers as when we sat on them our feet couldn't touch the ground (I'm 5'8)
There was also only 4 toilets in the men's to serve the whole site and it was a 0.5km walk away from our pitch, so it would be good to have more and closer.
The rules of the site stated that any fire wood, fuel, etc had to be purchased on site which we did but the logs were very large and slightly damp, and there wasn't any bags of kindling to help get it going which made it unbelievably smoky for the first few hours.

An amazing site, incredible facilities , cleaner loos and showers than my own! Loved the vanity room with hairdryer. The camping field is vast with choose your own pitch. Very helpful staff. Can’t fault the place. Felt very safe as a solo female camper. I will be back soon!

Thank you Team Oakhill, we’ve had the best time 🙌 Stayed two nights & we’d thoroughly recommend Oakhill to everyone. The facilities are superb, sparkling clean & modern. The 70 acre site is absolutely beautiful, the lake, forest & fields are well looked after & we had great time finding the craved faces in the forest & exploring. We loved the mini football pitches, spent hours on there, so great touch 🙌 The location is perfect, short drive to local shops with a lovely pub (with superb Sunday dinners). Thanks to the lady on reception for a lovely warm welcome, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed our time & im sure we’ll be back 👍

Excellent place to say, great walks for dogs. Amenities are at a very high standards, warden is very helpful and always smiling

The Only negative comment would be the shower block. Needs to be clearly identified which side if for women and Men. Can make a women feel very uncomfortable when in a dressing gown and a man is cleaning or shaving in the next sink.

Beautiful site, the camping field had lots of space and you were nowhere near anyone else. Plenty of wild flower areas for the dogs to run around in!

We came to the site because we were visiting relatives in the area. A great experience from the very start of our stay. The warden was helpful and friendly. She really goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. The shower block is one of the best we have ever seen with plenty of hot water. The site has access to acres of woodland, fields and a fishing lake, all of which are great for dog walking on and off lead. All very well tended and tidy. The site was very quiet when we were there midweek, the majority of pitches being seasonal and unoccupied.

I struggled a little with the separate toilet and shower blocks, and with the button-operated showers. It would also have been nice to have a rubber squeegee mop to push the lashings of hot water towards the drain after my shower!
The electric posts provide 10v so some people might struggle with multiple electrical appliances. Our electric failed once, but the warden immediately showed us how to sort it out.

Great stay again.. love this place , nice clean and well looked after

Site was very organised and well maintained with generous pitching plots. We had a grass with Electric hookup.
The on site amenities were excellent toilets, showers, pot washing area all immaculate.
The lady (I don't get her name,) was brilliant. Greeted on arrival, clear information given, helpful friendly the list goes on .
The cost to stay was great value and will be booking again.
Overall for us a 5 Star experience
