Nice atmosphere to the place.
Management are obliging and helpful. Nice rural spot to be honest and not too far from resources to make yourself comfortable. In fact a couple of miles if you run out of supplies (supermarket, take aways etc).
Fire pit and logs provided but to be fair not the best to cook on so bring your own.
Tents are of the usual spec but the king size bed was appreciated. Coffee/tea/milk sachets as per hotel standard. Bedding is extra but I’d expect that.
Not my moan but my 7 year old son, compostable toilets! He hates them. To be honest he doesn’t get taken to the chemical toilet boxes because I hate them! Enough said. Solar powered shower and good cooking tent apart from one thing - no instructions on how to work the electric convection hob - wasn’t only us that struggled when we needed to rather than light a fire early in the morning.
Easy to find, seems to be booked by those that want to be comfortable and often families or couples exploring from my brief stay. Can also see it as a good wedding Venue… a very good one in fact for those seeking something different from the norm.
You’re enough out of the way between 800 apples trees but close enough to appreciate the resources that those that “don’t camp” will actually enjoy.
Hour from Longleat and Wookey Hole, good vibe to the place on our stay.
Their cider is of good quality
All in all, would we go back?
Yes
