Loved the tranquil site and wonderful views of Swaledale. The weather was poor so we virtually had the site to ourselves which was perfect for us. We sorely needed peace and serenity. The Punchbowl pub is nearby a 10 minute walk away where the food is very good.
We will definitely return to this site for its peace and, when it’s not raining, its riverside walks.

The only reason for 4 stars, not 5, is that the facilities are some distance from the lower pitches. A tap in the lower field would be handy. Aside from this, disliked nothing.

Flat and level ground with well maintained grass to pitch our tents on. The landowner's were very friendly and the toilets were clean and tidy. Overall, the campsite is very well maintained and I will be recommending it to friends.

Facilities extremely basic. This is practically wild camping.
We will continue to book here when kayaking in the area.

Only one toilet

Beautiful location and the field is pretty flat which is something we always look for in a site.

We have a 6m campervan and the entrance track is steep and narrow - that was fine for us but a bigger vehicle would be a squeeze. The water in the outer toilet rooms was cold so a but bracing for a wash but facilities were fine. For us these were fairly minor points and compensated for by the lovely location.

Beautiful location. So peaceful and relaxing. Would recommend for anyone wanting to escape and enjoy beautiful walks.

Lovely campsite on a flat field in a beautiful valley. Limited but clean facilities with recycling. Very friendly lady on reception. Walks straight from the campsite along the river. Only 15 mins walk to a good pub

The simplicity and basic nature of this site. The toilets are immaculate and there is hot water. No showers. A place to wash pots. Helpful and friendly hosts and then there is the scenery which is wonderful. Just perfect to unwind and relax, walk to the river, or the pub, we just loved it.

Nothing to dislike.

Large field area to allow plenty of room between pitches. We were able to choose our own spot to pitch up which was great and we were allowed to use facilities inside the farm which was very kind of the owners to allow us to do so. It was amazing to see an owl flying round the field right next to us and otters down by the river! Much needed relaxing weekend and we will be revisiting!

Our only quarm would be that other campers can become very ignorant and selfish when there isn't constant management at the site such as parents letting their children run around screaming at 11pm and dogs all off leads. I understand that rules are sent out to the campers but perhaps these also need reminding to everyone as they check in to try and instill them a bit more.
