For easy outings nearby, you might like to try walks around the Singraven estate (10 minutes’ drive), a step into the past at Openluchtmuseum Ootmarsum living museum (10 minutes) or a tour of a fairytale-like castle at Kasteel Twickel (half an hour). Or how about a trip to a whole different country? Camping de Rammelbeek is very close to the German border, so it’s easy to get over to places like Nordhorn (15 minutes) for a stroll along the banks of the canal and a visit to Tierpark Nordhorn, where more than 100 animal species live in various different zones and you can meet some at the petting zoo.
