On the hunt for busy hols with plenty of time outdoors? Settle in for active stays at Minicamping ‘t Bosch, a small family-friendly site on a working farm five minutes’ drive from the Gelderland town of Zelhem. The site is in a very quiet rural area, with walks and bike rides easily available in the surrounding countryside, and is an excellent option for groups looking for a place to pitch up together. There's plenty to do for all ages and tastes: kids may be keen to meet the pig, goats, sheep and one donkey living on site (ask the owners for a farm tour to do this), and grownups (for an additional fee) can sign up for tours in the kitchen where goat milk cheese and ice cream is sold. A recreation room has table tennis, table football, billiards, shuffleboard, a TV and a selection of books for time indoors. The scenic Achterhoek has plenty of cycle routes to choose from and the long-distance Pieterpad can be joined less than half an hour’s saunter away. If you prefer something more slow paced, it’s a 15-minute stroll to de Markeplas fishing lake, and fishing cards can be bought on site. The Landgoed 't Zand nature area is within five minutes' drive. Night lighting is available on site and all pitches have hook-up (Euro plug). The spacious and well-maintained amenities include toilets, showers, sinks, a disabled shower and toilet, and washing-up sinks with plenty of hot water. A washing machine and a dryer are available for an extra charge.

喜欢: Relaxed vibe. Hilarious, the owner was lovely & helpful. Goat milking farm so noisy at milking time but didn't bother us. Some very kind long term Dutch campers there. Beautiful walks all around & plenty of wildlife. So many storks! Washk g machine & dryer available but not the cleanest as I think it's used as a farm machine.

不喜欢: 50c for the shower is inconvenient just especially if you don't have plenty of 50c pieces!

喜欢: The warm reception and getting shown around by the lady, the cleanliness of the toilet/shower block and washing area. The price was perfect for us trying to keep costs down as we toured through north Europe. Especially as it included WiFi, electric hook up, and really hot water to wash up. When we next travel this way we will very likely be coming back to stay here. Hopefully for more than one night too.

喜欢: Die Tiere und die Ruhe, sehr schöne Umgebung zum Fahrradfahren. Auch der Aufenthaltsraum bot Abwechslung, am beliebtesten waren bei den Kindern vorallem beim Großen die Kettcars.

喜欢: Het hartelijke ontvangst door de eigenaresse. Die ons heel goed op weg hielp. Dit was onze eerste camper ervaring, dus was heel fijn. Leuke speel mogelijkheden voor de kinderen en aardige medekampeerders.

If hols spent exploring local towns appeal, then this is absolutely the right spot. The site is well placed for wandering around the shops, museums and markets of Zelhem, and for experiencing the festivals, carnival, horse fair and carriage rides of Hengelo, both within five minutes’ drive. Turn next to Ruurlo, 15 minutes' drive away, to clamber around the castle and museum and to take a dip in the outdoor pool (with 65-metre slide), making sure to stop along the way at one of the largest mazes in the Netherlands, 10 minutes from the site. Explores on two wheels are of course a must in the Netherlands, and a visit to Vorden (15 minutes from base) should satisfy. As well as the Wiersse Castle gardens, there’s an eight-castle cycle route there for a solid mix of history and biking. History is easy to stumble across hereabouts: the site’s 30 minutes from Bergh and Middachten castles, and 25 minutes from the 800-year-old city of Zutphen. The latter’s in good company too – it’s 20 minutes from base to Bronkhorst, a village that’s technically the smallest city in the Netherlands, and the museums, shops, restaurants and zoo of Arnhem are within 45 minutes.
