Ask on site for details of the best walking and bike trails around – these will take you out across the plains and into the forests, past intriguing rock formations and caves. When it's time to give your legs a rest, head to Grevenmacher (half an hour’s drive) for a boat trip along the waters of the Moselle river. If you like to visit a historic building or few on holiday, you're in the right place – Larochette Castle, Pettingen Castle and Berg Castle are all about 10 minutes' drive away. You could also try the National Museum of Military History (MNHM) and General Patton Museum (both 15 minutes) for a different slice of history. In truth, of course, Luxembourg is pretty small, so it's easy enough to get to most places you’d like to go – top locations like Vianden, Echternach and Luxembourg City are all within half an hour's drive.
