Stay in splendid – and popular – Sicily away from the tourist crowds with a stay at Camping Lilybeo Village, minutes away from sandy beaches and set deep in the green plains of the olive grove- and vineyard-laden Marsala region (yes, the one with the dry sweet wine). Marsala is in the Trapani province on Sicily's far southwestern tip, in a land of history, wine and archaeological sites; the town and region have been Carthaginian and Roman as well as run by Vandals and conquered by the Swedish, Norman, Angevin and Aragonese: this is a pretty scenic – and popular – place… On site, Camping Lilybeo Village has an outdoor pool, a football pitch and a pétanque court, shared barbecue areas, a playground and a small corner shop stocked with daily essentials. Bike hire is available as is free wifi. The toilet blocks are modern and equipped with shower cubicles, free hot showers and hairdryers; also on site are a communal kitchen, a motorhome service point and a car wash.

喜欢: Piscina ben tenuta con corsi di nuoto per bambini gratuiti nel periodo estivo, campeggio molto curato e bagni puliti. Docce calde gratuite senza limiti di tempo, pulite e spaziose.

不喜欢: Il campeggio è in una zona un pò isolata e la strada per raggiungerlo non è proprio il massimo, soprattutto con il buio.

喜欢: The site was very clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a very rainy day there and noticed that they were checking to make sure that everyone was okay 👍

The ancient and much fought over city of Marsala, the biggest settlement in the Trapani province, has much to see, like its Old Town and the Duomo in the Piazza della Repubblica, a top recommendation for those who want an evening wander or an alfreso coffee opposite the cathedral. If you're a foodie and/or wine buff, sample the local wares in the bars and enoteche, the wine repositories where the region's vino can be sampled (look out for the word 'baglio', used for the local cellars and headquarters of wine production often open to the curious). Delve into Marsala's highly rich past with a look at its history museum the Museo Archeologico Baglio Anselmi on the Lungomare Boeo, filled with ancient goodies like the remains of a Carthaginian warship, and the Museo Civico and the Museo degli Arazzi Fiamminghi, with a collection of sixteenth century Flemish tapestries. On Marsala's outskirts, get along to the archaeological island of Mozia and its museum of salt extraction; a little further afield are Trapani, Erice and the Egadi Islands.
