Sails On Kos

Clearly you’re going to want to spend a fair chunk of time at the beach – and indeed you can, with it being a mere 10 minutes’ walk away. If that’s not enough aquatic time, top up with outings to Lido Water Park (five minutes’ drive) or Aquatica Water Park (20 minutes). Alternatively, seek out a change of beachy scenery at Agios Stefanos (25 minutes) or Paradise beach (an hour but worth the trip – as the name suggests) or make for Mastichari (15 minutes) for boat trips to craggy Kalymnos, an island known for its diving and climbing. Greece has a certain amount of history behind it, of course, so it would be something of a mistake not to explore even a little bit of that while you’re here. The ruins of Asklepion Kos (20 minutes) make a good place to get a feel for the ancient past, and there are history-tinged ambles to be had around Kos Old Town and harbour (20 minutes) – along with plenty of places to reward rambles with a drink and nibbles.
