Set in the woodland of a private 17th-century estate, Seren-y-Mor (meaning 'Star of the Sea') is a family-run campsite on the north coast of the Isle of Anglesey. Open to campers and tourers, it’s just a few minutes’ walk from the beach for family fun days and also close to the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path for coastal yomps. Bring your own barbecues, camping stoves and firepits (pick up groceries in Holyhead, 20 minutes’ drive). A couple of pubs are a half hour’s walk away if alfresco cooking isn’t how you want to spend your holiday, and there's also a food van on site on Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings. Additional pop-up food stands visit the site during high season. On-site activities include the Find Roots Forest School and the Dandelion Wellness and Massage. There are also workshops for families every weekend, from immersive theatre workshops to foraging, nature crafts and making flower crowns and wreaths. Seren-y-Mor is an eco campsite with composting toilets and hot showers.

喜欢: Seren-y-Mor was absolutely perfect for us. Set in beautiful countryside, you choose your own pitch and plenty of space . Back to basics camping experience with compost toilets, water taps and showers (which were hot). Nice and quiet which is what we like. Lovely walk down to the beach at Church Bay. Friendly owners. One of our favourite sites we've been to

喜欢: Everything! Out of the way, so peaceful and calm. Love the eco side, the compost toilets and showers. Beautiful scenery and so many birds, and the forest school area is wonderful. Nina was so helpful and friendly too! Lack of signal great to keep you unplugged and back to nature. Absolutely loved it and can't wait to come back 😍

喜欢: Absolutely Everything. I spent most of last summer here, & just spent my first week back here this year! We even stayed an extra night and still didn't want to come home. Nina and Bob are great! So kind and welcoming and they were promptly there to help whenever we needed it. The site is beautiful and spacious, eco-friendly, peaceful and surreal. Compost toilets are fab and the warm showers are amazing. The Estate grounds for weddings is completely out of this world as well btw! Lovely area with nearby shops and stunning beaches.. theres so much more! I'll be booking mini breaks every month throughout this summer! So see you again in June guys! and thank you for another great stay :)

Once you enter the estate, you will cross over two cattle grids. After crossing the second cattle grid, there is a left-hand turning marked 'CAMPING'. Follow the signs on the track through two fields. The final field is the camping field, where the toilets are directly ahead of you. Please pitch up in these fields along the hedge or the treeline, where it is sheltered, leaving eight metres between your pitch and other guests. What3words: clip.relief.abode.

You can learn all about Amlwch and its 18th-century transition from fishing village to copper mining town at the Copper Kingdom Centre (25 minutes’ drive). After checking out the displays, stroll along the colourful trails lacing Parys Mountain, which was once home to the world’s largest copper mine. Step into a tropical environment at Pili Palas Nature World (half an hour). Here you can marvel at butterflies and moths flying all around you in the butterfly house, watch meerkats being fed and meet colourful macaws and cockatoos. There are also exotic spiders and lizards, and (if creepy-crawlies aren’t your thing) fluffy rabbits and inquisitive miniature goats. Sitting on the Menai Strait, Plas Newydd House and Gardens (35 minutes) is an 18th-century mansion with gardens bursting with vibrant hydrangeas and rhododendrons. It’s worth popping inside too, to catch a glimpse of a gigantic mural (measuring 17.5 metres) by Rex Whistler depicting an idealised view from the building.
