Jump in the car and head for Warwick Castle (35 minutes), where you can mash-up history and family fun watching raptor displays, getting lost in the Horrible Histories Maze and watching jousting competitions. Take them to see Shakespeare’s Birthplace and his tomb at Holy Trinity Church in Stratford-upon-Avon (45 minutes), or book family-friendly story-telling sessions at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Petrol-heads can book tickets for classic car rallies and track days at Silverstone Circuit (35 minutes), or feast their eyes on hundreds of vintage models at the British Motor Museum (half an hour).
